My family often comes here to drop off trash during spring cleaning season.<br>A small tip: pack your trash into large bags, because they charge based on the number of bags.<br>Last time, I used small bins, and after about 8 bins, it cost me $23 — not very economical.<br>They also offer free mulch here, which is a nice bonus!<br><br>Location: I-66 Transfer Station, 4618 West Ox Rd, Fairfax, VA 22030

One of the worst transfer stations. I feel sorry for residents who aren't familiar with the navigation to get to the proper dump locations in this facility. And the employees at the dumpster and booths are NOT hospitable or even helpful with communicating procedures. The guys around the dumpsters to busy playing on their phones rather than coordinating traffic. Knowing this place get state funding and operating like another slummy bureaucracy.

A bit overwhelming the first trip. But once you understand the layout and how to organize your trash / recycle items, it’s very easy and efficient to get in and out. Staff very helpful to get you pointed in right direction.
