I had a vehicle stall on the side of a highway, unfortunately during a snowstorm. I could not get any company to tow the car home that night. Finally the next day a company could tow it, but by the time the company got to the location it was gone. State police had it towed, which Marek had picked up. Things happen, I get it and understand. I called Marek, they were friendly on the phone, and to get it out of the lot they told me $273. After considering all the expenses to get the car home and fix it, I called Marek back and asked if I could surrender the car to them. They said sure, and we will knock $100 off the recovery fee. Mind you the car was not in an accident, just needed an alternator to get it running again, or could have scrapped it to recover any cost and then some. I asked if they would just take it and let me get my stuff out of the car and not charge me, they said no we won't do that. So I bit the bullet went in to pay to get it out, they said the total was $285. I told him when I called they said $273, he said well it's $285. Okay whatever, handed him my card. The gentleman behind the counter said, "oh, there's a 3% CC fee as well". I paid, hoping for no more surprises. I get it they are a business and they have to eat too, but this is taking advantage of people. Luckily I have the means to pay for the inconvenience, but what if I didn't? The company profits on people with little to no control of situations, and exploits you still if you want to surrender your car, cut your losses, and they would still make money. I was never disrespectful over the phone or in the shop when I was paying. I was not being a Kevin, just another person trying to make it day to day. Family owned, nice people, but poor ethics in my opinion.

This place is one of the best in the Midwest. My mom’s van broke down in the middle of the highway and they came pretty quick. I met Devan, the coolest and most genuine person I’ve met. We vibed right away and he took good care of me through out the whole ride from one auto shop to a Honda dealership and got to know each other and had a great experience. Definitely will recommend Marek’s Towing to anyone and especially Evan the man! I barely knew him but felt like we known each other for awhile. Top notch service and all the above. Keep up the great work Evan.

Ever have one of those "Why didn't I do this earlier" moments? I had a slow leak in my tire for a few weeks, adding a few lbs of air each time I got gas. Not super inconvenient, but definitely not enjoyable when its freezing outside.... so I finally stopped by Marek's to have them patch the tire. It took them less time to patch the tire than it did for me to complete an online grocery order. I wish I had done that weeks ago! Thanks Marek's for making life easier!
