These guys are rather rude group. Sent my heads here for valve job and correct valve clearance. When I got the heads back everything appeared to be in order so Heads were installed. Apparently they are “used to dealing with people that know what they are doing” and failed to mention that cams were not torqued on the heads. This miscommunication led to hrs of labor,top end gasket set, head bolt set, and worst of all a new set of heads. I asked how they checked clearance without torquing the cams down. And they replied with “we set the cams on top and hold the valve in with a finger to check clearance. As long as you don’t use too big of a feeler gauge, it works out”. After all this I called in to see if they would work with me on getting my money back to help pay for the hrs of labor and parts needed to correct this miscommunication. I got a bunch of attitude that was unneeded but they ultimately agreed to refund my money I spent on this experience. Still not a good experience going here.

Masons is one of the few small businesses on the south side of Akron near the Springfield Township line on Massillon Road it’s been there for over 6 decades and is known for serving auto body businesses to mix an accurate paint color that matches the body shop needs as well as automotive parts at comparable prices to others in the area I believe it is necessary to do business here to support these small businesses that have been fading do to bigger box stores
