Sherwood is polite and his dog is cute. Unfortunately we didn't have a great experience with the service done on our vehicle. When I called and told him what was wrong with our vehicle (part of it was the dash and radio were not coming on and vehicle wouldn't start despite a charged new battery) he said to bring it in so we had it towed to him. It turned out to be the alternator and some fuses. We had the repair done (expensive but not more expensive than anyone else). It was done within a week, and I was glad about that. He told me about another repair that would need to be done later that was unrelated to the alternator. So far, really good service. When I brought the vehicle home the radio still didn't come on at all despite his claim the repairs were done. When I called him back he claimed to not know that the radio didn't work from the start, which is untrue. He said I could bring it back at the end of the week and leave it again for him to look at. The battery terminal covers were left off of the battery and had fallen down into the engine compartment while driving it home. Just floating around. There was also another cap to something, a fuse cover, left off. It's just sloppy cleanup after a repair and he clearly didn't check his work after an electrical repair was made or he would have caught that the radio still doesn't come on. We paid almost $100 more than we were quoted which would have been totally fine had the repairs been done and cleanup properly executed. Disappointing when you try to support local businesses. So, not a terrible mechanic but for anything more than a tire rotation I would go elsewhere unless you're in a pinch.

I just dont understand how anyone can leave a bad review. He has been our familys mechanic for over a decade and not once...NOT ONCE....has he let us down. He comes clean if something goes wrong (which was only once mind you and it was not his fault, the part delayed our time with him but he made up for it in a great way) and he bends over backward to get you in as quickly as possible. He has gone wayyyy out of his way to make us happy and we would never be able to thank him enough. Sherwood, you better live a long time cause my kids will need your help too. Thank you for everything you do and continue to do to keep me and my family safe on the roads.

I got quoted by VIP in Bangor to replace the muffler and some suspension components on my Jeep. I was a little shocked (pun intended) by the quote and was told by a friend to give Sherwood a call. Long story short, I'm glad I did, because not only did he repair everything VIP would have, but he also replaced my front brakes for me and the price was still less than two-thirds what VIP quoted me. His location is a little more remote than others but he accommodated my need for transportation and had all the work done in a little over a day. The drive is definitely worth the money you will save and the peace of mind that the job will get done right. I will definitely be coming back next time I need any major repairs.
