I don't normally go out of my way to write a negative review, but I am compelled to do so here, not because I am upset about a poor experience, but rather in the interest of protecting a prospective customer from an absolutely dishonest business transaction. I am the manager of a multi-million dollar business that occasionally accumulates small amounts of scrap metal. On this particular day (5/2/2024) one of our associates who usually handles scrap runs was on PTO, so I decided to handle a load of scrap in his absence. At our business, we use a calibrated scale to precisely weigh pallets of freight before shipping to our customers via truck freight carriers; I know this scale to be precisely accurate. Before loading this particular scrap piece into our company truck, I weighed the pallet to make sure the truck would not be overweight. The piece weighed in at 1,725 LBS. The image attached to this review is the receipt I was given by a gentleman managing the scale at Brookman Iron & Metals. You will see that according to the receipt, the difference between my loaded weight and unloaded weight was 600 LBS; more than 1,000 LBS less than the known weight of our scrap. In summary, I would strongly suggest that if an alternate option exists for your scrap / recycling needs, any prospective customer refrain from doing business with Brookman Iron & Metals.

Typically you'll get your money's worth from your aluminum, copper etc. Smooth operation, everyone is a pro. Nice clean shop too. I'll continue to use their service. You should too!

Owner was beligerant and acted as if we were bothering him. Took scrap elsewhere because of his demeanor. I do not recommend using this establishment!
