I have been driving my recyclables here for years. Always wonderful service, professional and clean. I feel safe going there alone. Hill Country waste doesn't offer recycling in our neighborhood, but they do in the neighborhoods right next to us. I don't understand that. So, this center was really great for us taking the angst out of having to drive it ourselves. It was a 30 minute drive total of 42 miles.<br><br>As of 2026, they no longer accept plastics and glass. Looking around us, the nearest places do not look as safe or clean...sorry, they just don't. To get to anything close to what this center offered, I have to drive now 63 miles round-trip to drop off my weekly water and glass bottles. Is there anything closer to 281 north?

We’ve been dropping off recycled items and getting mulch from here for several years. Today after driving 40 miles one way to pick up mulch they asked us at the gate if we lived in the county. The woman said it was a new policy that started this year, but evidently no one mentioned it when we picked up mulch two weeks ago or when we called earlier or on their site! We won’t waste our time there anymore.

Hit or miss on open times and accepted recyclable items, for example they do NOT accept TVs or monitors. When I have been there it seems like a good number of people are doing nothing. County should sub it out and trim some expense.
