My car was lunching when going up hills. My husband chose to take it to a tranny shop because he thought it was the transmission. We were told it was the spark plugs and $200 later the owner said it fixed the issue. It didn't. We took it to the dealership and the torque converter was slipping, transmission fluid was burnt and it was full of metal. This type of transmission you have to replace. Cost $8,600. We called the owner and he admitted he NEVER checked the transmission and was just going off a misfire code. He said he was sorry but we still needed the spark plugs. My car is NOT worth a transmission replacement so those new spark plugs are doing great in my dead car.

Asked to get my transmission rebuilt in my custom 1941 street rod and the transmission tech tells me exactly this, I won’t do it because the motor and transmission are too much horse power for that car. This car is a 25 year old build, not one problem in 25 years with that set up. Just needed a price on a rebuild. I wouldn’t recommend this place, not very professional.
