On a cross country roadtrip, last month, my trucks transmission started to slip. When I pulled over to check, I noticed a significant amount of transmission fluid under the truck. Seeing that I was 350 miles from home I called the nearest dealership, and they didn’t give me the time of day. I then called Precision Repair. They agreed to look at it without hesitation. After limping the truck to their station, the owner of the shop proceeded with diagnosing the issue. While I was suspecting the worst, the owner made some calls to confirm his suspicion that the most likely cause was too much fluid (caused by my last dealership visit). He drained fluid, checked it at temp and test drove it. It turns out he was totally correct! His fix not only saved my trip, it had eliminated symptoms of what I had thought was a failing transmission. We drove, without issue, another 3700 miles and made it to our destination and back without issue. I can’t thank this shop enough. Completely trustworthy and genuinely nice guys. They even let us borrow a car to grab lunch at the local burger shop. Service like this seems to be disappearing, and it was really something to see.

One of the best mechanics I have ever used. Lesson learned: never take vehicles to dealerships for repairs even if they may be able to get the parts faster because, invariably, they will have incompetent mechanics who eat into the time savings. Mechanics will save you time and do the job right. FORD DEALERSHIPS WASTE TIME! We took our Ford Transit in to have snow tires put on, but also asked that they look at a squeaking issue we have been having in the rear. They diagnosed the issue fast and without charging us. They suggested taking the van to a Ford mechanic because they thought Ford dealerships could get the parts we needed faster. This turned out not to be the case (no fault of Precision Repair). We have taken the van to two different Ford dealerships, both of which would not diagnose the issue. We ended up telling the second dealership what the issue was per what Precision Repair told us and they then found the broken bolt very fast. However, they only order a new bolt, instead of ordering the assembly for a bolt, bracket, and bushing (~$25 in parts). After waiting for the bolt to arrive, the Ford mechanic determined that we also needed a new bracket. So, we waited another day for the bracket. The second day the Ford mechanic determined that we needed a new bushing. Because Ford was not able to fully diagnose the problem the first time around, we may not be able to visit family for Thanksgiving.

Being a picky person I can be difficult to work with but Josh was very understanding and patient with me. He was helpful in getting a new battery under warranty. I will go back.
