I recently went to A-Tech Automotive to get some brake work done on my 1988 Honda Prelude 2.0Si. They quoted me $1400 for front brakes, rotors, two rear calipers, and one front caliper. This seemed excessively high, especially since my car only cost me $1500. So, I asked for a quote on just the front brakes, rotors, and one caliper, which they quoted at $800. I decided to do the work myself and spent only $217 on parts from O’Reilly’s for just the front brakes, rotors, and one caliper. It took me only 2 hours to complete the job, saving $583 compared to their reduced quote and $1183 compared to their original quote. While it’s possible A-Tech Automotive uses higher-quality parts, the significant price difference suggests they may have been overcharging me. I recommend checking the prices for parts before going to A-Tech Automotive, as they might overcharge you. It’s always good to get a second opinion or quote from another shop.
