Hess Garage and Salvage were my mechanics for many years. Right up until they worked on my 17-year-old daughter's car, because we were unable to open the hood. They reported that they also could not open the hood. She drove it 1/4 mile off their lot, and the hood flew open while she was driving, causing an additional $ 2,400 in damage to the car. Dave Hess told us he would make the situation right, but when presented with half the cost to replace the broken windshield, paint the hood, and replace the two quarter panels, he stated that he was not responsible. They refused to pay anything other than giving us the hood, which they already had in the salvage yard. As the last professionals to touch the car, I believe they were responsible for ensuring the car was safe to drive, and I think this shows a lack of integrity. I will not use them again and caution others to beware. Their word is not their bond.
