To start, I don't normally write bad reviews. But the owner at Manasek has a real problem with customer service. I called about purchasing a car battery and spoke on the phone for a few minutes. He was not very helpful as he did not want to provide any additional service other than selling me a battery. (Like checking my battery to determine whether it needed to be changed.) He said I probably needed a new one since it was five years old. So I went over to the shop and found him blabbing with a customer about military and policing. After a few minutes I asked for less talking. Okay, that might have put him in a bad mood, but I then apologized for interrupting. I explained I was here to purchase the battery. I asked if he would check my car to determine what was involved with changing out the battery. He sent his employee outside to check. His employee was extremely helpful and professional. He said that there was not much to changing out the battery and he was willing to perform the task. However, when we got back inside the shop, the owner demanded that the employee not assist me because he was not willing to provide such service. The owner then said he already provided me with enough service by talking to me over the phone and having his employee check my vehicle. (I'm guessing he blabbed to the previous customer for free.) I agreed to buy the battery from him since he spent time talking to me. He then said to return the used battery to get a $16 refund which was tacked on to the price of the new battery. I had enough! He wouldn't remove the battery for me yet he wanted me to bring it back for the refund. I left and went down the street to Autozone. What a difference a few blocks made. The employee checked my battery for free and explained that it was still good and that I needed to recharge it. Made sense because I hadn't run the car in over a week. So that's what I did. I went for a long drive. I recommend Autozone because they provide excellent customer service. Beware of Manasek!
