Update: the engine is confirmed blown. Our mechanic found that the oil pressure screen was completely removed prior to sale. Which confirms that this was a known issue. I have been trying to gather my thoughts for hours. And I think I’m finally ready. My husband bought me a 2008 Yukon XL from here 3 weeks ago from today. It turns out that this vehicle that was advertised as great and ready to go, perfect for a family, etc…… has an engine failure. My dream car. Is a total loss. The car that is supposed to transport my 3 young children. My family is now out $5,000 AND a vehicle just before Christmas. I now literally do not have a vehicle. My husband called Steve to explain the situation. He stated that there was nothing wrong with it when he sold it to us. (Which is funny considering you can tell the oil was overfilled. Hinting that he did indeed know about the oil pressure issue resulting in engine failure. My husband works on cars in depth). After my husband went in to more depth, he was told by Steve “well it does have high mileage!”. Pick one. Either it was in great condition and perfectly fine, or it’s just got high mileage. The issue with the engine is something that was likely known about for weeks-months. There’s absolutely no way this issue was not known prior. Thank you so much for selling a vehicle to a family with 3 young children knowing it was going to blow up. Right before Christmas. He KNEW we had a family and were looking for a car to safely transport our children in. He KNEW we needed at least 1-2 years out of this vehicle and said himself it would definitely get that if not more. This is SICK business practice. I listened to the phone call and it was very disheartening to hear the gaslighting and pure lack of remorse. I have owned a lot of bad cars in my life, and not a single one has blown like this in less than 3 weeks. Even folks that don’t know anything about cars know for a fact that this type of issue is something that is known for weeks to months before it really starts hitting the fan. Shame on you for selling us this knowing it was for our family. My husband works EXTREMELY hard for us and provides for us. He is a United States Marine Corps Veteran who has made it his life mission to take care of his family. He spent $5,000 cash for this vehicle to ensure that our children and myself had reliable transportation. It was literally my dream car. And now it is a total loss. Please believe the other bad reviews. He KNEW about the engine failure. He overfilled the oil, and cleared the check engine light prior to sale…. And he sold it anyways, then gaslit my husband on the phone. Gaslit us in person, gaslit everyone while advertising the vehicle for sale. I don’t take situations lightly that involve disrespecting my husband. My husband isn’t confrontational in situations like this, but I sure am. I will be ensuring that every proper authority, business bureau, etc, will be notified. Because how DARE you sell vehicles like this and have a dealers license but sell them in this manner. MERRY CHRISTMAS I GUESS!!!! Because it sure won’t be merry in my home this year.
