Customer reviews of O'Reilly Auto Parts in Pittsburgh, PA
4.6 stars based on 30 reviews- LLiz Barter
Employees are wrong, sexist, and rude. Mistakes happen, but there is no excuse for being misogynistic to customers, which has happened at two locations. This location was ruder about it. I was sold the wrong air filter at a different O’Reilly’s, after repeatedly stating I needed an engine air filter for my car, not cabin air filter. I said “this looks like my cabin air filter” but was told that it was absolutely the engine air filter. I normally change my cabin air filter myself, this is the first time I was purchasing the engine air filter so I listened to the employee whose job allegedly includes knowledge of auto parts. I came to return it to this location. Despite the bell ringing upon entry, I had to walk to the back & repeatedly ask if anyone was there after waiting at the counter for several minutes. I could clearly hear their conversation, there was no way they didn’t hear me. If I had been interested in purchasing something & was ignored that long at register, I would have left. My real issue is that I explained that I was returning the filter as it was incorrect, I need an engine filter & this is the cabin air filter. The male employee then speaks to me as if I’m a child, and says “well, it says air filter on the box.” Yes. I can read. I literally just relayed it’s the wrong size/model for what I need. He then insists on looking up my car in the system instead of processing the return, despite me saying I just want to complete the return, wasting more of my time. Turns the screen to me and *rudely* says that it’s listed as an air filter for my car. I have to repeat, once again, that there’s a difference in shape & size between an engine air filter & a cabin air filter. Both were available for purchase on the inventory screen I was shown. If I’m so stupid due to being a woman, how come I know this & an auto part store employee does not? The attitude was demeaning & antagonistic and it was poor customer service. I wasn’t asking for an apology, just an efficient return. I will not be purchasing anything from an O’Reilly’s in the future. If it’s necessary to come in with photographic proof to complete a return without nastiness, that should be put on the receipt. Asinine.

Jamel, is an outstanding associate that works for the noblestown store he is amazing, friendly and very helpful. He was extremely busy as he was the only one working and he took the time to walk me through how to fix my car on the spot and together we were able to get it up and running. I really appreciate his time and effort and he deserves definitely five stars for his attitude. His commitment to customer service So thankful I have a chance to work with him today He’s one of the reasons I’ll keep coming back

I was out of my original area, so upon my first visit to the store. I immediately saw Matt and Logan helping some customers with language barriers and saw them do a terrific job with that help. Upon my own service, they helped me navigate which alternator to buy for my vehicle and a few side questions I had upon the part itself. These guys really helped me today and their hard work workmanship upon closing time should very well be recognized. Thanks for the help, fellas wishing y’all well!
