I believe the quality of the work performed on my used 2021 Toyota Sienna van was who knows, but I'm skeptical whether it was necessary in the first place. I brought the vehicle in for a suspected leak, providing photos of drip spots on my driveway that evaporated within a few hours—I wasn't sure if it was A/C condensation or oil. The mechanic called to ask if I'd spilled oil and mentioned they spotted an oil leak, but they didn't address the specific ground spots I'd shown them. They quoted me $1,900 for the repair, which escalated to over $2,300, claiming oil was leaking. They provided proof of the work done, but no proof there was an oil leak. However, just 3 weeks later, the identical leaking issue returned. I texted them new photos, and they immediately responded that it was simply A/C condensation on the driveway. When I politely requested photos proving the engine had been removed as described, the staff member called me upset, accusing me of insinuating dishonesty. The only reason I visited three weeks ago was due to these drips. Upon researching (despite knowing little about cars), I realize a dye test could have confirmed an actual leak, or they should have shown me evidence of the oil leaks upfront. They offered a free oil change as compensation, but that doesn't resolve my concerns about the diagnosis and unnecessary costs. Overall, proceed with caution—get a second opinion for any leak issues. As it warmed up the leaks stopped because of less humidity in the air…. This must of been the reason from the start and I wish this was the first diagnosis.

spoke with Roy on the phone today, i’m not somebody that usually does these but I appreciated his attitude and willingness to stay on the phone and try to help me out. He definitely isn’t the cheapest and he told me that. but he stands by his work and wants return customers so he seems to be very transparent and fair! totally plan on using Explosive Garage!

I have now used Roy twice for two separate vehicle issues, and all I can say is that he is an honest mechanic and a genuinely good person. In this day and age, it’s hard to find one or the other, let alone both. Like most people, you usually have to shop around, compare quotes, and wonder whether you’re being told the truth about what actually needs to be fixed. With Roy, there’s none of that. He is straightforward, transparent, and never tries to add unnecessary work or uncover “extra” issues just to increase the bill. It’s clear that Roy truly cares about his customers and takes pride in being both an honest mechanic and a good human being. On top of that, his work is phenomenal. If you’re looking through reviews trying to decide on a mechanic, please take this one to heart, you truly cannot go wrong with someone like Roy.
