Very professional and courteous. The owner helped me with stuff I didn't originally go there for. The mechanic/paint and body guy was the best I've ever had work on my vehicle. I recommend them for anything your vehicle might need

I have never had a more pleasant experience working with a mechanic. When our transmission blew we got quotes from 2 other places, and we were not seeing any way to make it worth fixing, but we loved our old suburban and we knew (and so did all the mechanics we spoke with) if the tranny was fixed or replaced it would have another couple years of life in it. When we called Goods we found out that the price to rebuild would be a quarter of the price to replace, so we decided to go for it. But even still we weren't going to be able to pay for it immediately. Mark was clear about the costs and the expected amount of time once he began working on it, and after hearing the situation our family was in offered to park it for us until we came up with the money. Once we paid it, it took about a month to fix because being an old car, some new problems were discovered. Again the price for Mark to fix this was less than anyone around, and he called us any time he knew of an issue to ask us if we wanted him to fix it or to leave it and gave us a rundown of what to expect in prices. He was kind and understood we were not super financially stable so he was willing to work with us. He does NOT do payment plans as another review suggested and this day and age that is expected. Mechanics(especially small town, non franchise) get screwed over more often than not doing payment plans. But he was understanding and patient. It took a long time to fix, but he is one man and it was the busiest season for mechanics. Also, the work he did was thorough and it was obvious he took pride in making sure everything he did was done to perfection. No shortcuts here. I will forever recommend Goods for all your transmission needs and we will be going back in the future anytime it is needed.

My son (a student at PSU Altoona) called to tell me his truck wouldn't shift out of 3rd gear. I knew his 2000 Dodge Ram's trans needed rebuilt but I was 4 hours away. After reviewing all options, checking junk yard prices for a swap out and totaling everything up I went with Mark. $3800 might seem like a lot, but a full rebuild doesn't happen overnight, nor would I take a heart transplant from the "lowest bidder". Mark explained the process, was up front about the cost, amount of time it would take and even showed me the trans on his bench when almost finished. If you need a quality rebuild, let Mark take care of you. IF YOU'RE LOOKING TO PINCH PENNIES......go somewhere else. He's got 30 years of experience and you get what you paid for. I appreciate his craftsmanship and would take my next transmission need to him tomorrow.
