After buying a truck 3 days ago, 30/40 min into my drive home the truck died at a stop sign. The owner John there said he put a new battery in so I thought it was just a loose connection. By the time I got home it was dying every time I stopped the truck. Took it to my mechanic and they thought it was the timing chain. I called the guy who sold it and didn’t get an answer so messaged the son and explained the situation. His best reply was “it all sounds strange to him, especially since I asked his father if something went wrong with it within The next week, could I call him”. I’ve bought used cars before. It wasn’t an uncommon or crazy question. Second opinion, sure enough, the timing chain. Oh! And the best part, was the check engine bulb had been taken out by someone, (old owner of the truck/here, I can’t say). Without that light, the only way I would’ve known anything is if I drove the truck for a half hour when I was test driving it. Paid $4500 cash and now I’ll be paying another $1500 when the problem started within the hour. The ad said “no significant problems” BUYER BEWARE!!!! It’ll be suggested you’re up to something when vehicle doesn’t work as they said.
