CONSUMER BEWARE!!! If you read the reviews, you’ll notice this Malakin guy is a habitual offender. Just before Thanksgiving, I drove over 300 miles to pick up a 2011 Subaru Impreza from 9889 Allentown blvd Grantville PA, which is the address for Malakin motors. Said vehicle was won from an undisclosed auction where Mr David Malakin put the item up for sale/bids. Mr Malakin was asked a series of questions pertaining to said vehicle-(see attached picture)- to which he gave specific answers. Does this even remotely seem like a car that can be driven more than 20 feet? An inspection on the vehicle showed that this car has been in an accident which broke the sway bar clean off the frame and links. Links were broken. Tie rods were broken. Entire sway bar was broken and found in the trunk. CV axles were taped over leaking boots The underneath impact was hard enough to cause the exhaust and cats to almost flatten entirely. Left a big puncture hole in the floor. “Likely went in a ditch at moderate speed” is what was said to me by the repair shop. After contacting Mr Malakin through his shop manager, his immediate response to my questions was to read out the disclaimer, which apparently doesn’t hold him accountable for entirely lying about the description and condition of said vehicle. You shouldn’t be in business.

I received the car with the check engine codes cleared, but after only 250 miles, the light came back on for a timing issue. They attempted to fix it by replacing the timing components, but the repair was delayed and took over a week and a half. When I finally got the car back, it still had a bad catalytic converter. I had also mentioned that the AC wasn’t working. Instead of fully diagnosing the problem, they did the bare minimum to temporarily get it running. The AC failed again soon after, leaking out completely. Now they’re telling me they won’t do any more free repairs and won’t even tell me what’s wrong so I can have a reliable mechanic fix it. When you buy a car, you expect it to be free of major issues—not to deal with a check engine light, a bad cat, and a failing AC almost immediately. I was originally going to give them 4 stars for at least trying to resolve things with decent customer service, but after taking time off work to bring it in for AC repair only to be told it was “fixed” (when it wasn’t), my trust is gone. At this point, it feels like these cars are closer to junkyard quality than what you’d expect from a dealership.
