Homewood at Martinsburg took wonderful care of our grandmother. The staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely compassionate throughout her stay. She was always comfortable, and our family felt confident knowing she was in such good hands. We truly appreciate the excellent care and kindness shown to her. If rehab is offered to you or a loved one, take it — this is the place to be if you qualify. Skilled nursing can be scary, but we would absolutely trust Homewood with any member of our family. The facility is very clean and well maintained (you can truly smell how clean it is). Thank you to the entire Homewood at Martinsburg team for taking such great care of our grandmother. We can never thank you enough?

My grandparents were at homewood and we have had nothing but issues with them. My gram was admitted and they handed her paperwork and told her she had to sign it. It was paperwork to leave against medical advice and they told her she had to go home and get situated so she can be home to take care of my pap. I made an adult protective services report. She ended up back at the hospital not even 24 hours later. She was eventually sent home for a few days and when back in the ICU where she died. My pap is still at Homewood because he cannot live alone. They have neglected his medical needs to the point that his blood was way too thin. He said they grabbed him too hard and he had a bruise under his arm and then I made another adult protective services report which prompted them to take his blood and test it and they called and said he needed to go to the ER where he was admitted to the ICU. Then he was sent back to the nursing home and they called me when he was unresponsive and asked me if they should send him to the ER to save his life or not. Basically asking me if they should let him die or not. I told them there was no directives and to send him for good measure. He was only there for a few hours and needed potassium. Now that he was admitted back to homewood- they are now attempting to take control of his money and intimating him and making him feel threatened. I made yet another adult protective services report. This is my grandfathers preferred nursing home. And getting him into another one when their doctor deemed him not nursing facility eligible would be close to impossible. I used to think this was one of the better nursing homes. But I was so mistaken. Not sure how many adult protective services reports I will have to make on them.

I went there for rehab after a total knee replacement.Rooms spacious and clean. Food was good.my personal care left a lot to be desired. I was supposed to have a shower Twice a week.after a week of bedside bathing I asked when could shower.they never informed me I could take one until I ask. The first bedside bathing I was assisted after that I was on my own. I was told I’d have therapy 2 times a day..I did not .the staff didn’t help me to the rest room or help me back to bed. The staff never explained any of my care to me. I could go on and on. The experience there totally traumatized me. I cut my stay short due to lack of care. Needless to say I will never go back nor subject my family to this facility.
