This company works with Century Oaks Apartments. This sorry excuse for a business attempted to tow my vehicle but a neighbor stopped them. They dropped my car and left it sticking out halfway out of my assigned parking spot. I confronted the company to ask them why would try to tow my car that had a visible parking sticker. They refused to look in to it unless I had proof it was them. GTFO! Common sense would tell you that they were the ones who attempted the tow but since a neighbor saw the whole thing they stopped the tow. This company will find any reason to tow your car. Watch out!

So, I have actually had my car towed by this company before about a year & a half ago. When I called the employees were rude and did not like to answer questions but I did make a mistake with my parking, paid my fees, and was even shown a picture by the lady who works/worked there at the time of my parking violation. I would like to start out by saying I am not a disrespectful nor rude person, I was also not drunk or under the influence. I had my car towed tonight sometime after 12 am from the side lot by the gateway food mart off elms in the same plaza as hangover. I called to ensure Leon’s towed and they did answer. I proceeded to ask why it was towed, and they explained that my car was approximately 4 feet over the property line. I asked if there was a way to look up the property line so I could ensure myself and I was given the Bell CAD website, which does not show you any property lines. I then asked if they knew the property owners name but the man I spoke to proceeded to say “you know we aren’t going to help you right?” Over the phone. I explained I didn’t need help but I wanted to ensure my car was not illegally towed. And he just said it wasn’t, as well as, “well do you want me to get you a lawyer too?” I also explained that I would not take a towing company’s word for it, as they have a vested business interest in towing anybody’s car. I then hung up and went to get my car. I also called KPD’s non-emergency line and spoke with officer Smith, and he had no issues with trying to help me find the correct property lines or where to go to retrieve that information. When I arrived to Leon’s I was crossing the walkway and one of the men were driving fast past the gate where they store the vehicles and barely missed hitting me with his tow truck (there were at least 5 witnesses). I then had to wait 15 minutes outside for them to open the window even after they already entered the building. I then proceeded to ask for photo evidence of my car (I know they take photos before towing and have been shown photos before). Calvin Velo, the cashier who serviced me and answered the phone, said I had to take my own photos before I paid the full $337.54 to retrieve my vehicle, which is actually against TDLR towing and VSF laws. I am actively filing a TDLR complaint and requesting a hearing. I urge everyone to do the same who has had a negative experience. UPDATE: my receipt said the Catholic diocese in Austin was the property I was towed from and that is actually incorrect. As you can see the side lots are owned by BCMB Properties LLC - series 108 (where I was towed from). Word is they’re not contracted with Leon’s but I will be getting confirmation from them on Monday. I will also be filing a small claims suit with bell county, filing a complaint with the Texas attorney general, as well as the city of Killeen.

If I could give negative stars, I would! I am writing to warn people about Leon's Wrecker Service following an incident that occurred in the early morning of 9/28/24 at Hangovers Bar & Grill. My boyfriend and I were at the bar for less than 30 minutes when a brief announcement was made over the loudspeaker, instructing patrons to move their vehicles if parked in the adjacent field. My boyfriend immediately went outside to move his car, only to find it in the process of being towed. He approached the tow truck driver and opened his car door to relocate the vehicle. In response, the tow truck driver aggressively slammed the door shut and proceeded to haul the car away without using the proper straps or a safety light bar, which I understand is illegal according to TDLR regulations. Specifically, the TDLR website itself states that if a vehicle is not fully hooked up and ready to be towed, the owner is entitled to keep the vehicle without incurring any charges. After this incident, we ordered an Uber and observed the tow truck in action, capturing video evidence of them transporting another vehicle without the required safety measures. We then proceeded directly to the tow company’s location, where we were met with hostility. The staff began yelling at us and calling my boyfriend derogatory names. When we requested the release of his vehicle, they refused for over an hour. During this time, I contacted the police for assistance; however, instead of helping us, the owner of the tow company attempted to have my boyfriend criminally trespassed from their property. This behavior was both outrageous and unprofessional, especially considering we were the victims in this situation. Eventually, I was able to retrieve my boyfriend’s car, but not without incurring a ridiculous charge of $337.54, which included several fees that appeared arbitrary and unjustified. Based on both our experience and the numerous negative reviews of Leon's Wrecker Service, it is clear that their practices are incredibly shady. I urge anyone who has had a negative experience with this company and has witnessed their illegal towing practices to file a formal complaint with TDLR! Companies like this should be held accountable for their actions.

My kids father came into town from Alabama to drop my kids off from having them for the summer. Within the first night of him being here his vehicle was towed the next morning. We called the police station and they gave us the name of the towing company, Leon’s towing. So I called and asked if they had the vehicle and what was reason for towing , they said because it was illegally parked in handicap.. I advised the person I was speaking to that it had disable veteran plates with.. and he cut me off and said maybe I should learn the law.. he was very hostile with me. After being interrupted several times I advised him that it has a handicap sticker on the plate at the top right he cut me off again and said no it doesn’t I then hung up and stated I would call the police. My dad and husband went up there to get the vehicle and they were in fact wrong and had to release the vehicle at no cost. The man I spoke with excuse was he didn’t see the handicap because it was dark. I will be looking into legal action regarding this. I understand mistakes happen but this company is very unprofessional and speak to people any way they want.

Worst Towing company here. I just got stationed here and they wrongly towed my sister’s car even though we had a permit and showed them where it was. The gentleman at the front said “Oh I see it, but we didn’t see it last night.” That makes no sense, also, when we arrived this morning the permit could be seen clearly from where she had put it. After asking for our vehicle back because it was wrongfully towed, he presumed to curse at us and say we still have to pay $317.00. This place needs to be looked into. Why should we have to pay, when we followed all the right procedures and they are wrong? THEY ARE NOT FRIENDLY AND HAVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Something needs to happen.

As a new resident of Killeen and a victim to residential towing, Leon answered all of my concerned questions and kindly briefed me on the Texas laws of towing in residential areas. It was definitely a frustrating event for me but Leon was professional and went out of his way to provide me additional information to help prevent future repeats.

I bought a new car and brought it back to the apartments I’ve lived at for 4 months.. less than 11 hours of me having the car I’m leaving to head to my grandfather’s funeral in Houston and my car is GONE. I parked it in my designated parking spot in front of the unit I stay in. I called the company and all they can say is “there’s a sign that says Towing Enforced” and I responded “Ok but under what grounds? You towed it illegally. You have to have a reason to enforce towing.” He hung up so I went in person. I said “I’m here to get my car”, he then asked for my ID. Then moments later, he refused to give it back, I asked for it back 5 times after that. He said “Well you’re just going to stand there cause I’m not giving it back”. (I have all of this on video) I said “Why do you think you have the authority to keep my identification?” after a pause of silence, he gives me my ID back and then he asked if I was paying cash or card. I told him “I’m not paying when you took my car illegally.” He then closed the window and locked it. The way I typed it is nicer than how he actually was but they roam around the apartments just looking for cars as early as 8pm. This place full of tenants who majority are ACTIVE DUTY SOLDIERS WITH THEIR FAMILIES (who pay $2,000+ a month in rent) and our visiting guests. This isn’t some bar with drunk people leaving their vehicles for days or whatever also HALF OF THE COMPLEX IS STILL VACANT! There are like 75 parking spots CONSTANTLY empty even on Holiday weekends. There’s NO REASON for towing right now. Towing court is definitely happening.. I haven’t seen my grandfather in a very long time, I was stationed in Korea the last 3 1/2 years.. the fact that I missed the funeral and the guy literally didn’t care at all. To all the people saying “this place was good”. it’s because you all paid them with no issue. That’s all there in it for, the money. Duh. Why would they give you problems when you paid without asking any questions or confronting their illegal practices.. if you were guilty or stuck, you just had to accept the consequences of your own actions so yeah ANY towing company can do good with that POV. But to do everything right and then THEY break the law and STEAL your vehicle from YOUR OWN HOME, holding it ransom to steal money from you along with what the inconvenience cost you, is a TOTALLY different story. A One star is the most generous rating these cowards will ever deserve. They don’t even have an office, just a drive through window so they can act tough behind a barred up window. That’s how you know they’re slime, why hide if you run a business of integrity. And they have a sign that basically says if you hurt their feelings or confront them (which would me appropriate) for trying to con you, you won’t get your car. These guys are a joke, I asked if the guy I was dealing with was Leon the owner, he told me no one there is even named “Leon”. Just cowards hiding in the shadows and stealing money from US soldiers.

Worst service ever. Towed the vehicle even though it had a decal on it given by the complex to be able to park. Then proceeded to say it would cost 520.00 to get it back. Beware. They do shady business and wait around all hours of the night at the complex to take cars. What's worse was they even towed a city vehicle and had many officials there to tell them they were wrong. Gave it one star so I could leave this review. But if it allowed me to choose negative stars, I would rate it -5 stars!

TJ with Leon's Wrecker Service showed up at 3 a.m. and got me out of a tough situation with my truck being stuck in some mud while I had been overnight fishing. Out in a rural area, TJ went above and beyond to make sure he could assist. Not only did he remain professional, he has a solid personality and I really appreciate that in a time where I was stressed to the max. I admit I was skeptical with the poor reviews but he answered after the second time I called. Slightly unrelated but my phone also had gotten moisture in it from dropping it in water while fishing therefore the phone couldn't charge until it dried out so I was working with a low battery and stuck in the mud so I just want to remind TJ how much I really appreciate the service! You guys came through solid! Thanks again!

PREDATORY TOWING business. As a tenant, I was towed the very first night I moved into my apartment 2018 with damage sustained (you cannot view your vehicle for any type of damages prior to payment or non-liability paperwork signing which is illegal), they attempted to tow my vehicle this past May (fortunately I was up about to leave for the airport and heard my alarm. Payed drop fee that's more than half the total tow fee), and I was towed this past Thursday/Friday while sleeping (Disabled Veteran with ASI symbol on plates parked in handicap designated parking with a portion of my tires covering the stripped area was the reason). Enough is enough! Due to their technical reason for towing my vehicle, it was extremely easy to obtain concrete proof through pics & video footage of unfair, immoral, and unlawful business practices based on anger and personal agenda. Obviously known for their blatant disrespect and unprofessionalism so I won't dwell on that. I will mention however it doesn't require a magnitude of intelligence or common sense to be an employee or owner. I've posted pics of a wrecker that is illegally parked based on property law at three different times (evening, night, & morning), but never pursued like other vehicles. Leon's Wrecking Services also drove though the complex preying on vehicles that same night...Nothing was done. This is one of many violations they've committed. Not able to include video at this time since it isn't an option.

This towing company has abusive practices. They towed my car without my permission or any justification. It was parked in a permitted spot and without any warning they took it away. When I tried to resolve the situation, the staff was very rude and did not give me any reasonable explanation. Also, the fees to get my car back were outrageous. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Great customer service, focused and sensitive to me wanting to get in and out quickly. Thanks Leon's Wrecker Service.

The company towed my car for double parking and my landlord told them she didn’t want it towed. The guy got smart with me and started being very rude before he hung up on me. He stopped answering my calls. My landlord had no clue about the towing and she had to call them to even get pictures. He did not send me pictures and only wanted to talk about the $400 to get my car back!! If I ever get bored, I will be researching other people’s experiences dealing with this company and reviewing my options. THEY ARE RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE REASON PEOPLE CALL IN PANICKED WHEN THEIR CARS HAVE VANISHED. Why didn’t my landlord know they towed my car?! He said he is not doing me the favor of bringing my car back because he felt I was rude to him! He told me to have the neighbor who told me the car was told take me to go get it because he is not bringing it back to me! QUESTION! If everything was done RIGHT, why would you let me have my car back for free? That doesn’t make sense at all. He told me it’s $400 to get my car back, but when I called the landlord, he just wiped the cost away and let me have back for free? So, he got my car for absolutely no reason at all. From $400 to $0 when my landlord called him.

Hey y’all just wanted to say that you’re not allowed to pay the guy on the spot because he will drive off and disregard you. Oh you’re willing to pay 125 for him to drop it on the spot? Nope! You will have to show up and pay the 317. I very clearly stated that I wanted to pay on the spot and he drove off. Called him on the phone and told him that I would’ve paid on the spot to drop it, told us he was here for too long. So i guess 90 seconds is way too long to wait. He clearly wants to just get paid and does not care about you or where you parked.

The complex I live in remodeled the parking lot, and instructions for visitors parking were not made clear, so Mr. Leon is connected with a lady who lives in my complex who called him personally to have my vehicle towed twice within 48 hours. I proceeded to get in touch with Leon’s wrecker on a separate occasion where that same neighbor had a visitor parked in the wrong area and Leon’s tried to say they did not tow for the complex, until I mentioned their number displays on the gate outside. The owner Leon then proceeded to mention that office management are the ones who request towing and to contact the office, because they only come out to look for repossessions, which during the time my vehicle was towed nothing was under repossession. I proceeded to reach out to the office staff who then said usually they show leniency with towing and it depends on the circumstances for why they tow. I mentioned there was no sticker on a vehicle parked in the non-visitation area. The office call center proceeded to state that I should call the wrecker again directly to request towing, and from there Leon’s never answered. I find it shady that this lady he knows was never towed, and I hate making things seem as though it’s a racial issue, however I notice that these people react very prejudice.

You guys need to slow down going through these neighborhoods you were going about 45mph through our neighborhood savanna heights which is 30 mph. a kids ball rolled out in the road and I swerved so I wouldn’t hit the child no more than 4-5 years old and you were flying down the road and almost rear ended me then I go around to my destination and you were still speeding and if I wouldn’t have told my 10 year old son to get back in and close the door you would’ve hit him almost. I followed you to get the name and number of your company on your truck and you had pulled over to fix a loose dragging strap, and I pulled up and told you that you needed to slow down going through neighborhoods, and that you could’ve almost hit me and or my child, you’re reply was it’s ok I was trying to catch a repo been doing this along time just so you know my neighbor the one parking the jeep is a HH policeman and saw you speeding through the neighborhood as well. Y’all need to check yourselves before someone gets hurt due to your carelessness just to get paid. Would not have been good for the company if my child would’ve gotten hit due to you speeding. Extremely disrespectful! Hung up on the phone multiple times because he didn’t want to listen to me nor work with me, after they towed my car at my own apartment complex that I’ve lived at for over a year and pay for. Park in the same spot every time and they come every night. My pass fell off in the middle of the night but was still visible looking through the window. Claimed it wasn’t and that’s why they towed it so it’s my fault. Flat out LIED. When I pulled up to get my car wouldn’t come to the window, so I called and he said it’s appointment only and it’s fault I can’t follow basic instructions even though he never said anything about setting up an appointment. When I went later on many people were in front of me and he was extremely disrespectful to them as well. When I got to my car finally not only was my car parked so close to another I had to squeeze to get in but the pass was most definitely visible looking in from the window. I don’t appreciate the customer service and they need to realize this makes the apartments they have contracts with look bad, either this place needs to be shut down or needs new employees.

12:55AM on 9/4/20, we called our son as we drove into the parking lot of his apt complex (Bayfield Colony apts on Rancier Ave, Killeen, TX) to ask which building number we should be looking for, and where to park. We had pulled in on the wrong end of the complex, by the time we pulled into the "visitor" spot, it was around 12:57. We exited the vehicle after having driven almost 13 hours, stretched, and each of us gave our son a hug and then removed our dog from the back seat, and let him relieve himself. Then immediately (approx 12:59am) headed inside to releive ourselves and get the VISITOR PARKING PERMIT our son said we needed in order to park in the apt lot and not get towed. We were in the first floor apt for less then 3 minutes. As soon as my wife exited the apt door, we could see leon's truck already had the back of our car off the ground. The driver's assistant was at the front of the car, I beleive she was checking for a permit. Based on this, I am pretty sure they lifted it before they even knew if we were allowed to park there. And the fact that they had us hooked up that fast only proves that they were watching us as we pulled into the lot, and they waited (with lights off) until we were out of sight before moving in for the attempted theft of our car. As further proof of this, when we reviewed the carbon copy of the report they gave us, it clearly states the the time they arrived at our car as 1:00am. Three minutes after we pulled into the spot, and could not have been more then a minute after walking into the apt to get the parking permit. As my wife ran up to the driver of the truck, she had the permit in hand explaining that we had just gotten here (which he had to know) and that we went in to get the permit. The driver was combative and rude from the first words out of his mouth. Because he had the vehicle off the ground, he stated the only options were for us to pay the $120 drop fee or wait till morning and go get it at the lot for even more money. This Tow company seems to have a history of targeting new or expensive cars in this apt. complex at 4301 E. Rancier Ave, based on google reviews. Plus, if the reviews are true, they also have a record of other methods of twoing vehicles that are illeagal. Based on this one experience with the company, I would have to believe what we see on those reviews. There is NO WAY that they could have just come upon our car by happen chance, nor would anyone have complained in the three minutes we were on our Son's aparment about an car in the lot without a permit. All we can figure is that they saw us enter, watch as we enter our son's apartment and had hoped they could get the car out of the lot before we returned. They probably thought we were in for the night and we surprised them when we returned so quickly, which would explain the drivers defensivness when confronted with the permit in hand. We were forced to play nice, pay the fee to get the car dropped, and then we were alowed to remove our luggage. Wlecome to Killeen, TX

One star is too generous, they came in the middle of the night and stole my legally parked car the night before I left for the field, when I went in and confronted to get my car back, they were disrespectful and even mocked me for the parking permit not being in the correct place, and I was still forced to pay for this legalized extortion. After the field event I was left to pay for damages they made when they stole my car. I called and they laughed before hanging up. This is blatant extortion.

We just got a new car after 7pm on Friday and the office was already closed and want be open again until Monday morning to get a permit for our new car. My husband parked the car in the same spot as he did our other car that we had when we first moved in on the same day after the office was closed for the weekend. The parking lot isn't visible marked where you can park. There was no warning sticker at all on the car saying he couldn't park there at all. So it is going to cost us 271 dollars to get the car out. This is a scam to get money from people who live there. Leon was very rude and disrespectful on the phone and hung up on me as well. Don't ever use this company at all.

My car was towed at dark apartment parking lot with no tow signs around while visiting my family. Blank open spaces to park, which I have plenty of times parked there. I have pictures too to show no signs in sight. Thought my car was stolen. When I called, after calling around to check tow places, the worker was super rude and unprofessional. He said," well you just got the luck of the draw". Is it lucky to have to pay money when times are hard right now, when it was not my fault ? Had to even tell him not to yell at me because he got mad for telling him I was also handicap with a placard disabled vet, from the new law to have doctor signature. He said so is the whole Killeen and. WOW! He was even petty on the phone to my spouse. Then we had to wait forever for them to even come to their business to get my car back. Last night when I arrived at the ICON Thayer Point Apartments in Killeen to visit my friend I parked in a visitor parking spot that had no signs of towing enforced in sight. The apartment complex had not notified the residents that they were required to get a bright green VISITOR parking pass. Therefore the next day when I was to leave for work I found out my car had been towed illegally. No warning stickers placed on the vehicle like alot of towing companies do. They said it would be $317 to get my illegally towed car out!!!!! No sympathy and the older man at the front counter had no heart. I am very upset and do not believe I need to pay the $317. At this point my car is still there because I do not have the money to get it out. Also apparently their workers wanted to try and make a quick buck because I was not the only one at this complex this happened too. This company needs to be sued along with the apartment complex because they both work hand in hand even though the complex states they have nothing to do with it. This is a sly company and not worth the 1 star.

  • 3. How Do People Comment On Leon's Wrecker Service?

We've presented some customer reviews on it below:
“This company works with Century Oaks Apartments. Watch out!”
