We stayed at Huntington Beach State Park from April 13 – 27, 2025. The park staff were friendly and helpful. We were in the South campground site 138, a back-in concrete site with full hook-ups, a picnic table, and a fire pit. Our site was conveniently located close to the walkway that leads directly to the beautiful beach, making it easy to enjoy daily beach walks and sunset strolls. The beach is AMAZING!! One thing to note: not all campsites at Huntington Beach State Park offer full hook-ups, so if that’s important for you, be sure to look at the park map and reserve accordingly. The campground facilities were clean, well-maintained, and offer great amenities that include comfort stations (bathrooms & showers), laundry facilities, and a dump station. The park is pet friendly and they are allowed on some parts of the beach; make sure you read through the campground rules. There’s so much to enjoy at Huntington Beach State Park: Beautiful sandy beaches perfect for walking, relaxing, and watching the sunrise and sunset. Self-guided tour of Atalaya, a National Historic Landmark and former winter home and studio of artist Anna Hyatt Huntington. Wildlife viewing, especially birds and coastal species, is great for nature lovers and photographers. The campground is quiet and peaceful, ideal for unwinding. A bonus is the campground is close to Myrtle Beach for dining, shopping, and entertainment. If you are looking to stay in the Huntington beach area, I would highly recommend staying here.

It's pretty clean, restrooms were clean, gift shop is beautiful and includes ocean items like kissing dolphin figurines and turtles, lots of T-shirts , swearshirts, baseball caps and very friendly staff. Today we walked our dogs to the beach and then on a short trail near the gift shop. Some people hadn't picked up after their dogs near the ice cream place but it was pretty good otherwise. The birds sounded amazing in the woods: heard lots of red-winged black birds and saw a crane, sandpipers and unknown white birds.

A must see when visiting the Grand Strand. The Huntington castle is a great experience. The property in the park is loaded with things to do for kids, and adults. The beach is pristine. The lack of any high rises makes it a special experience. Large clean restrooms and plenty of parking. Definitely a trip you should make.
