My experience with Slate Towing/ I-70 towing was deeply concerning from a professional standpoint. I attempted to retrieve personal belongings from a vehicle in their possession. I was initially informed that with written authorization I would be able to access those items. After arriving in person, that information was reversed and I was told nothing could be released without full payment of the tow bill, but since I wasn’t the owner of the vehicle I could not take the vehicle off the property once the full tow bill was paid. When addressing the matter with Chad, one of the owners, the interaction was dismissive and unprofessional. Rather than seeking resolution, the conversation escalated to inappropriate and degrading commentary, including being told I “look like a weak one.” This is not how customers, particularly those navigating already stressful circumstances should be treated. Equally concerning was the lack of internal organization. The front desk employee openly stated she had received no training and repeatedly apologized for not knowing how to handle the situation. It is unfair to place staff in that position, and it reflects poorly on leadership. She asked Chad many of times for help as he sat at his desk behind her and he was dismissive to her as well. This experience did not reflect fairness, professionalism, or respect. Qualities that should be foundational in any service based business. The only good is that Tyler from Tiger Towing demonstrated integrity and professionalism. He took time out of his own day to assist and resolved the situation without charge. That level of service speaks for itself. I would strongly encourage I-70 to reevaluate both their customer service standards and internal management practices. If you are looking for a fair honest company I would strongly encourage you to contact Tiger towing. Don’t waste your time here.

Hello ! I broke down last night on interstate I-70 at exit 125 in Columbia MO . Around 6:30 pm I barely made it off the road on to the ramp emergency shoulder it seemed to be an electric issue in my transmission- I was driving a large motorhome race car hauler . I tried a few thangs to erase the codes nothing seem to work. I decided to call a wrecker I’m not from here so I googled and the first one I found was I-70 Towing’s less then 3 miles from me . When I called I got the owner his self I found out by the driver when he should up . The phone call was very personal and polite .. he sent his driver right on out to me . With in 8 minutes the driver called me to verify on what direction of I- 70 I was going . And with him eight minutes later, he drives up and a very nice looking PETERBILT 50 ton Wrecker within about 25 to 30 minutes he had it hooked up driveshaft pulled out and we was pulling back onto the highway. I only had about a 4 mile two to the KW dealership where he separated my trailer and put the unit inside the shop. For them to check it out next morning the drivers name was DAVE and he handle that rig well he was very nice and helpful to me by dropping me back off at a motel after we I hooked. The tow bill was very reasonable I will use them again !! If y’all ever in Columbia MO . And need a tow give them a call !!
