I had a very disappointing experience with Top Notch Towing. From the beginning, the staff was rude and unhelpful. If you look at how they respond to negative reviews, it shows exactly the kind of company they are. They don’t list their office hours anywhere, so you never know when you can pick up your car. You’re forced to call and hope someone answers. If your car is towed on a Friday, good luck—because they’re closed on weekends. Meanwhile, they still charge storage fees, which feels unfair. It’s also suspicious that they strongly push cash payments and charge extra if you want to use a card. If your car is towed after an accident and the police call them, you’re required to pay cash only. I was told this is “policy,” which doesn’t feel right. Also be prepared to be on their time. I was told someone was running late and asked to wait for them to arrive, which is very unprofessional. The staff is generally disrespectful. The only positive part of my experience was a kind Hispanic employee who took the time to explain things and treated me respectfully. He made the whole situation better and just understood I wanted my car back. Overall, this company lacks professionalism, transparency, and basic customer service. I hope I never have to deal with them again, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. (Edit)———————— I do remember seeing the hours on the door that was my mistake. The credit card charge I understand it’s not their fault. I think the way they replied to this post was respectful and helpful. I still hope I don’t need towing anytime soon but this was helpful information. Thanks!

Top Notch saved me when I was stuck at the bottom of a cul de sac in Annapolis and my F150 truck kept sliding on the icy incline when my 4 wheel drive was not working properly. I was so grateful for the prompt courteous professional service after being stuck for almost 2 hours and not being successful in trying to get oit of that situation on my own. My boyfriend is a professional heavy duty tow truck driver but was out of town. He called a few places before selecting Top Notch. I was glad he chose Top Notch. It was a very tricky situation but the Top Notch driver knew just what to do and got me out of there and back on my way with fast and friendly service. Thank you Top Notch Towing!

EDITING MY REVIEW: Due to the illiterate, inaccurate, visceral nature of this owner’s response I’ll address the false claims he made: 1. The HOA issues parking permits via US Mail. (And, there is no charge for a new permit.) Not me. But I’ll follow up with them on this claim; 2. The police officer verified that the person at the office said she could just prove there was a permit in the vehicle and she could take it. It’s recorded on his body camera and I’ll be requesting that footage; 3. I’m grateful that I have a very respectful, honest, trustworthy tenant who has been a very good steward of my home. She’s a great mother and found herself in an un winnable position. You had ALL the power to do the right thing and you chose greed. Not me; 4. Yes, I tried to negotiate less because she was never illegally parked. It would be stupid not to try and reason with a business I knew didn’t do the right thing. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF FOR TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WHO DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG. I paid the money because I wanted her to be able to take her sick children home and take care of them. But this isn’t the last you’ll hear from me… I’m planning on attending the next HOA meeting to have you fired and I’m filing a complaint against you with the BBB, the city and the county. ……………. If I could give HALF a star, I would. This half star at least goes to the person who had the unfortunate duty to perform the following on behalf of the owner: I unfortunately had quite a negative experience with the company that patrols Annapolis Overlook for towing purposes... My tenant has a valid parking permit. She had this permit in her vehicle and was parked in a permit spot. Apparently, the person towing it did not see her permit due to the tint on her window. I ACKNOWLEGE THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE AND SHE IS ADDRESSING IT. (She and her children had not left their home in several days because they all had the flu.) Long story short, she was towed. When she called Top Notch, the gentleman told her she had several hundred dollars in charges to include storage fees. BUT, the person she spoke with told her that if she came in and showed that she had the permit in her vehicle, they would just give her the car. He seemed to understand her situation and her predicament. That did NOT happen. When she arrived (with three sick children in tow) they told her she had to pay and refused to show her the vehicle until she did. As a single mom on a fixed income, she doesn't have that kind of money and had no thoughts or reason to believe that she was in violation. They finally said that they would release the vehicle for $350 plus 4% credit card fee. She panicked and called me. The tow company called the police who tried to reason with the tow company representative. This person did not deny that they said she could just come get the car but apparently the owner of the company refused to comply with that promise. So, I paid it for her. I would reconsider any contract with this company. It seemed like a very predatory and unscrupulous thing to do... promise to give back the car as she has a permit but then demand she pay when she showed up. Shame on you, Top Notch... should be named, "Below the Belt".
