These guys are the best. They worked with me to get the proper approvals To build a recording studio in my basement, legally. I can’t say enough about how helpful they were. You know, sometimes people wonder if they should just do the construction yourself and skip the permit process but I’m here to tell you that’s the most foolish thing you can do. One of the inspectors caught a drainage issue and had us put a reverse flap in our main stack drainage system out the the street. The flap itself was only 25 bucks, but I had to rip out the drainage that me and my dad had put down. At the time I was bummed, but it turned out to be an absolute lifesaver. When all these crazy rains came down and flooding has been happening on River Road lately, my house was the only house that Basement didn’t flood. I have a lot of recording studio equipment there and they save me from a catastrophic disaster! That inspection was the best few hundred bucks I ever spent!!! In addition to that, they were extremely helpful throughout the whole process and helped me do everything the right way. The clerks are timely and friendly too. There was a few other mistakes my Electrician made that they caught. It’s not just about taking a couple hundred bucks here and there from the towns people, it’s about assisting us and making sure our contractors (or Father In Law’s) aren’t screwing up our renovations! Do not cheat yourself out of this excellent service the Town provides, it’s worth every single penny not to mention when you go to sell your house you don’t have to rip stuff out just to get your own title. I’m extremely grateful for the team over here. The recording studio has expanded into lucrative equipment Rentals and I just was the audio consultant on two of the biggest movies to come out in the last five years. in My career took off like a rocket, all because of the recording studio the town helped me build! They may not know they played an integral part in the advancement of my career, but I am eternally grateful. I really am. Doing things the right way always pays off. Integrity always pays in dividends. Do it right.

I moved to Nutley and did some electrical and other upgrades on my home. The Nutley building department issued the permits almost immediately. They were friendly and thorough. I lived in three other local towns over the last couple decades and the other building departments always seemed like they were your enemy. They didn’t want to help you and they wanted to catch you doing anything that they could fine you for. But Nutley is a refreshing difference
