I would not recommend Roberts Transmission Service for the lack of communication, professionalism and experience. Still don't believe I was charged for a job they didn't even finish. I even tipped thinking I could trust them. To then be charged at another shop to fix their mistakes. I was robbed not only financial, but also in time. As to I do not live in NJ and had to get a room for the additional week and a half. The owner knew this yet acted with no urgency. If they took accountability for the error, I would have moved along. People make mistake. The lack of respect is not accepted. Sadly, I thought I would be attended properly since I knew of the owner. No priority treatment. Just good service. Was no where close to the case. I was hesitant in leaving a review, but after being $1,500 in the hole for this with no follow up, apology or communication here I am. Here was my experience: From the beginning there was a lack of communication. I went in to have my transfer case replaced. My 4x4 wasn't functional and there was a loud knocking sound occuring. I brought the part from the a junkyard as recommended. He wanted to replace a couple other things for maintenance. Glad I didn't. I dropped off the vehicle early morning as they open at 10am to be done same day. Since it can be a 3-4 hour job. I didn't receive an update about my vehicle until I messaged the owner. Then received a call stating it won't be done until next day. Horrible start I get the call next day early morning that my vehicle is ready and good to go. I picked up my vehicle after work. Paid what was asked and added a $140 tip thinking I was supporting the shop. Which was a horrible decision. As I'm driving, I immediately test the 4x4 and with my surprise not functional at all. Also, they removed and reinstalled my exhaust (which had nothing to do with the transfer case) that now my pick up truck sounds like its ready to race. Call the owner immediately and he says bring the vehicle back on Monday. Shows no one tested the vehicle to confirm it's functionality. There was also as a snow storm was coming that weekend. So my vehicle wasn't back in shop until Thursday. The horror begins... I return the vehicle that Thursday. As I walk in to hand the keys, they owner literally states "Take one of my mechanics with you to this shop so they can reprogram it. It will only take a couple minutes". Believing it true, I drive to the other shop. They try to reprogram and it fails a couple times. Call the owner and he says take it to another shop.. ? I just handed the keys to the mechanic that rode with me because I had to get back to work. Yet again, I get no call with updates. I text the owner and an hour later after closing I get a call with the runaround that it'll be ready next day. ?The horror does not end... I get the call next morning that the vehicle needs another part and it would be another $500 because of part and labor of the NEW SHOP!!! The original job was never completed. Note: we went to two other shops because they did not finish the job. More like they could not do it and never should have accepted it. Literally ROBBED me for charging me for a work they claimed was done which never was. The last shop my vehicle was sent to handled everything extremely professional. Night and day difference. I would not recommend Roberts Transmission Service for the lack of communication, professionalism and experience. Still don't believe I was charged for a job they didn't even finish.

If you have transmission problems do not heritate to go to Roberts! He is honest with excellant work and fair pricing!
