My experience with Pep Boys brokehaven was not very good. The tire is a good tire.It was installed fine.It was never balanced the two ladies at work there diane and hepsey. Are not very knowledgeable. When my vehicle was finished hepsey Explain to me the warranty on the tire told me my vehicle was fine and that was basically it. I drove my vehicle away and instantly it started to shake.I've worked as a mechanic before.I'm not an idiot, tire, wasn't balanced? It didn't have any weights on it. I brought it back the next morning. The other lady diane who just smokes cigarettes. Gave Me a hard time (thats what shes good sat) and her horrible attitude. There 2 mechanics on site one Was a state inspector there doing car inspections and a mechanic. Neither one of them would pick up my truck and take the tire off and balance it. I had. To leave and come back in the middle of the afternoon. I came back Hepsey was waiting for me, Immediately came out from behind the counter with her chest out and a lot of attitude.Telling me that my rim was bent on my truck, but she never said anything about that when they gave it to me. Never said anything about not being able to balance the tire or anything when i asked her why didnt you tell me that when you gave me the papers that say tire balanced 90 days $22.98 It's just her excuse. Then she turns around and tells me. I should just take my truck to a truck place. I probably should because nobody there knows anything. Beyond that, I've taken, my truck had my tire balanced in 5 minutes. And it's doing just fine , don't ever go to pep boys in brookhaven....

TBH, I feel rooked. I’m super disappointed. Brought my car in for tire installation, check engine light diagnosis, oil change, and state inspection. The afternoon after drop-off I received a VM at work saying to call back to talk about my state inspection. I called the following morning and was told that I’d need to have the secondary air pump replaced in order to pass inspection. Cost would be $615 and they’d have to order it so I’d need to leave my car for a couple of days. I agreed to the price out of necessity; and to leaving my car because I was traveling for work. The person on the phone also said that the person who checked out my car was also recommending a new battery, a new oil filter housing assembly, and a belt component kit. I asked for costs and was told I’d get a call back that day. That call never happened. I called the next day and again requested prices for the above. I received them and also a surprising new price for the necessary secondary air pump - now $1,623.90 because they forgot to include the cost of labor. That’s a BIG difference! Wish there was more transparency sooner. I told them I needed to think about the costs for the additional recommendations and would call them back, but to proceed with the OG reasons I brought my car in for. The next afternoon as I was traveling back home from my work trip I received a VM that my car was ready. My presumption was that when I picked up my car I’d have four new and safe balanced tires, an oil change, and my state inspection stickers on my car. Nope. I show up to get my car and was told that they didn’t have the means to balance my new tires “because it’s a Mercedes” and I’d “need to take it to ‘the dealership’ to have them balanced.” I’ve never taken my 2012 Mercedes to “the dealer” in my life, even the last time I had four new tires installed AND balanced. Then, I’m told–much to my surprise–that because my engine light was on when I brought the car in I would have to drive my car 100 miles and bring it back in to get my inspection stickers. Why wasn't any of this communicated to me BEFORE texting that my car was ready for pickup???? The cherry on top: the lady at the front desk didn’t tell me much more that had been done to my car before rattling off the grand total. I asked to see the itemized SOW to confirm what services were actually rendered. Get this: She said I could see it AFTER paying because that’s the only way to see the itemized list. I pressed again–I need to know WHAT I’m paying for. She tapped a couple of buttons and lo and behold my entire order, including the itemized list of services rendered, appeared right before my eyes on the credit card reader. Was I taken advantage of? Or is the front-of-house staff not as informed as they need to be? Meanwhile, here I am driving around on shaky unbalanced tires, with expired inspection stickers, and frustration that I have to spend even more money and time to get these things sorted. Not happy.

I stopped in without an appointment about an hour before closing on a Thursday because I heard and felt a loud thumping under my car. The techs took it for a quick drive and thought there might be an issue with the driver’s side axle. They recommended keeping it overnight since they didn’t think it was safe for me to drive, and I’m so glad they did! They called me the next day with the best kind of good/bad news — my axle was fine, but my lug nuts were almost completely loose and my tire was about to come off. I’m beyond thankful for how quickly they figured it out and how kind and understanding everyone was. This location will definitely be my family’s go-to for all our vehicles!
