RESPONSE TO OWNER: "We would never..."???? EXCEPT YOU DID. Maybe you should fire people who do things that "YOU" would never do. Because he did. AND, when I dropped it off, I was CLEAR on using 0w20 instead of the 0w16. I even had a small conversation with the guy about it... mentioned your shop recommended it. and he accepted it. NO REBUTTAL to not using it. Quite frankly... the "We would never..." is total bullshit. IT HAPPENED. Calling your customer a liar is a FANTASTIC business model. At RETAIL 0w16 and 0w20 is EXACTLY the same price. ... but you still managed to charge DOUBLE RETAIL for motor oil... It wasn't the cost of the oil per say, that's just one example overpriced incompetence and ignoring directions and not consulting the customer and doing it anyway. But since we are talking INCOMPETENCE... Let's add that I spent well over $1000 for your guys to "fix" my other car a year ago and your guys declared it FIXED and DID NOT EVEN TEST DRIVE the car... because as soon I drove it and it warmed up, it blow all the coolant out of the overflow... THEN YOU CHARGED ME FOR A TOW to get the car back to the shop to LOOK AT A PROBLEM YOU DECLARED FIXED THAT WAS NOT FIX... and let's not forget that YOUR MECHANIC didn't even test for the problem. Simply assumed the problem was a water pump but had he actually tested pressures rather than being a joke of a mechanic he would have determined that there was a head gasket issue or a crack.. he tested NOTHING... performed $1000 of work and claimed it to be fixed. Utter incompetence shining bright. People go to the grungy hole in the wall to avoid high priced scam mechanics that prey on people who don't know the difference between a leaf spring and parking break retainer spring. But apparently when I go to you I get overpriced incompetence that pretends to be a premium service and still feels just as scam-y. ****Previous review. The pricing here is straight up ridiculous. After multiple services and over $1,500 spent, I won’t be coming back. What really ticks me off is they gave me a specific recommendation, then refused to follow their own advice without even talking to me first. Their staff told me to use 0W 20. Next visit, I asked for 0W 20 per their recommendation and nobody said a word. Then they swapped it to 0W 16 (per the manual) without asking or calling in contrast to my request, and after the fact hit me with “we have to use what the owner’s manual says.” Cool, except that contradicts their own earlier recommendation. If the manual is the rule, why did they tell me 0W 20 in the first place? And why change it without my OK? Then there’s the oil pricing. They charged $10 a quart and tried to play it off like it’s some kind of specialty item, with the excuse “I can’t sell it for less than I pay.” Meanwhile, the name brand oil is about $28 for 5 quarts at RETAIL. That’s roughly a 78% markup over retail pricing, while pretending it’s rare or special. This whole mess would’ve been avoided with a simple phone call: “Hey, we want have to use 0W 16 rather than what you requested, and it costs more, are you good with that?” Instead they made the change on their own, didn’t consult me, and then offered nothing but excuses. No apology, no ownership, no “we shouldn’t have recommended something we won’t actually do.” At this point, I’m going back to my old mechanic where an entire oil change costs about what they wanted for just their overpriced “specialty” oil... and idea that they replied, "you're welcome to do that..." as if I need permission.

This shop is underrated, Dakota did an awesome job restoring my headlights. Now I can finally see properly at night. He does vehicle inspections too and other general repairs. I'll be back the next time I'm due. Thanks!

Developed ignition problems while driving NH to TX and had to abort in PA. Stumbled upon Dakota and East Texas Auto by chance after pulling off the highway near Allentown. It was late in the afternoon and Dakota was happy to check out the car- able to get the parts and fix our ignition struggles, having us back on the road that next morning! Incredibly polite, responsive and helpful. We are just rolling into Houston, TX and the car is running like it’s new again! Thanks Dakota!
