We enjoyed the grounds at the Historic Site. We toured the various buildings on the property and learned a lot about this place. We enjoyed the Mill Jam festival going on at the Heritage Pavillion across the street also. Cool place with camping down by the creek. The gift shop had multiple milled products that were for purchase and we got the Scottish Oats that we cooked later and did not regret! The lady employee inside was full of knowledge about Hagood Mills and wasn't afraid to tell you all about it. Quite the promoter. Definitely worth checking out when in the Upstate of SC.

I have lived in upstate SC for many years yet was not familiar with the Haygood Mill Historic Site. My wife booked a visit there for our camping club and we had a great time. The historic buildings were very interesting, especially the mill and our docent Ron, was very knowledgeable. You can tour everything by yourself but I highly recommend a docent. It was fascinating and a step back in time!

Peaceful, friendly, extremely well maintained, low key historical exhibits and events. Interesting Petroglyph museum/presentation. Buy real stone ground grits that are ground right there! Good parking. Nice clean rear rooms. Very helpful volunteers. We went for a special event (banjo festival) which was smaller than we thought but will return for other events.
