The ABSOLUTE worst place to purchase a car!!!! I bought a 2009 Dodge Journey from this guy and it had at least 5 more things wrong with it than I was led to believe and I made it VERY clear to him that I was going to be driving my 3 children in this car and I discovered that the air bags were taken out of the car. THREE KIDS he put in danger. The power steering went completely out of it within 3 hours of owning, the stereo had a short which is where the security system was which means the moment it goes completely the car no longer starts, new tires were needed all the way around, the heat went out an hour into owning it and many more issues. I told him I needed my vehicle back that I traded to him and I will give him credit, he gave me my vehicle back with a $200 cost for "his time" HOWEVER he then told my husband that he planned to fix the coolant leak ONLY and then still sell it to some poor unsuspecting person. Even knowing it is unsafe to drive. So PLEASE be very careful and have it FULLY inspected before purchasing from him.

If you need a part, they will know where you can find it! They got the tools and then knowledge to help you get a good deal on a used part. All I needed this time was a G for the GMC in my car and I was led right to it!

When my car broke down on highway 10 near Becker, MN, Jeff was able to find me and tow my vehicle very quickly. He even took a quick look at my car and explained to my husband over the phone what appeared to be the problem! He was very friendly and kind and charged a very modest fee. Would highly recommend!

I had a man from this company come to my work for fuel. He was training a very young female driver. It was only her 2nd day! As she was attempting to fuel the truck, he processed to SCREAM at her multiple times while using profanity, in front or our customers. This was witnessed by 3 staff members and there was even a customer who tried to intervene with how he was treating this poor girl. I decided to go out and help her with the fuel pump, she was literally shaking and could barely even speak she was so terrified! Inside the store, he continued to make rude comments about her and caused a scene while still raising his voice and swearing! Completely disrespectful human that disrupted our place of business with his horrible language and rudeness! I will be contacting this company directly, you do not get to treat people like that and get away with it! UPDATE: I have decided to change my 1 star to a 4 star.. I guess the right person read my review.. this man returned to my work looking for me (I had the day off).. he was once again angry and quite rude! He was told by my manager I was unavailable, he became increasingly more upset and said "because of her and her google review, it cost me my job!" Karma ALWAYS gives you what you deserve!

Gaines has changed management since the previous review. The yard was not very organized yet, but it was cleaner than other junkyards I have been in. The real selling point of Gaines Auto Salvage is all the classic cars and trucks. We were on the lookout for Studebakers and found about a dozen at Gaines. Their prices were fair and, above all, the owner was very eager to help us find the parts we were looking for. If you are looking for rare used parts for that restoration project, give Gaines a try!

I'd give them zero stars if I could. Terrible customer service. I tried to ask a question and get some advice about buying a car, their response was that I was an adult, I need to assess my own risk. Gotta love the "people helping people" attitude!! Lol

Absolutely outstanding customer service! I called about removing a junk car from a property we are renovating. They scheduled a pick-up within 48 hours. The driver expertly retrieved the junk car without disturbing any of the construction areas. I will definitely use their service again!
