It was ridiculous what they charge. Why is it that Effingham charge so much. The people are rude. Other counties are free.

We’re new in town and had a uhaul we had to return but it was full of cardboard boxes from furniture and such. We were told to take it to Effingham County Dry Waste & Recycle. They made an extremely stressful situation (we had to turn the truck in by 5 pm, 15 miles away, and it was 4:30) a breeze to take care of! Mandy was kind, understanding, super helpful, and courteous. I can’t thank her enough!

This is good that the county provides a place to dump yard debris and other items, but with the high taxes that are paid in Effingham County, this should be a free service. On another note, there is a good ole boy system in place, if the men in the office know you, you definitely do not pay a disposal fee. Seen this plenty of times.

I have had nothing but great experiences here. They are very fair, and extremely helpful. The older gentleman in the office is quite the character! Definitely a good place to bring those big, heavy items you can't discard in your weekly trash pickup.

Reading the other reviews, I don't think they have anything to do with the Effingham County Dry Waste & Recycling Center which is located in Guyton, Georgia. I had some junk and needed to find the closest "dump". What I found was 10 miles from Rincon, GA. My truck was loaded with metal items and 1 old toilet. When you drive up you go up a ramp to be weighed because they charge eight cents $.08 a pound to dump your junk. I was told there is no charge for metal junk and was directed to a container area to dispose of the metal. That area is run by State Prisoners and they helped remove the metal. I was told to go back to the scale to weigh my truck containing the old toilet. I did that and then was directed to the container area to dump the toilet. I then returned to the scale area where the truck (minus the toilet) resulted in a weight of 60 pounds. At 8 cents a pound, I was charged $4.80 to dump an old toilet. This happened 2 days after Hurricane Irma had hit the area and the County of Effingham offered no information on dealing with storm-related trash. Will I return to this dump when I can drive to Bluffton, SC to dump items for free? I don't think so.

I don't think that you have to have an education to work to at this business. I paid for the service 2 weeks ago for sanitation service and still have no bins for trash or recycling! In fact it has been 2 1/2 weeks, my check has cleared and no request for service has been ordered!!!! With I would have stayed in Chatham County!

Wonderful service, professional and price is fair

Outstanding customer service. Employees are friendly and helpful. I visit here often and have never had a bad experience. My son lived in Washington state and told me the price is so much lower here.

Hours are wrong on here. They've changed them to only being open Wednesday-Saturday i miss the old ownership when they had people helping you unload and were open all week

The prices are ridiculous. They'll certainly take your metal for free though you're expected to unload it for them as well... It's a shame Effingham takes advantage of its residents like this.
