VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!I purchase a used transmission from the auto salvage dealer in Litchfield with a 30 day warranty. It ended up being defective. My repair shop had an employee out due to a medical problem. So it didn’t get installed until 3 weeks after I purchased it. I called to explain my situation but Bethany from Karels Brothers would not give me a refund if I couldn’t get it back in time. She did give me an extra week but the shop was still short staffed. I understand the warranty policy but sometimes being responsible and understanding to a situation that’s out of a customer’s control. I’m very disappointed that my 16 year old son is now out $500. I guess this is a lesson that I can teach my son as to treat others the way you want to be treated.

In a world where we all shop online, I feel it’s important to share honest experiences so that we can inform fellow online shoppers of our experiences with businesses that we do not interact with face to face. Here’s my experience.I ordered an instrument cluster for an ‘02 Escalade from Karels. I talked to them on the phone and they said they had one and assured me that it was in good shape. I asked if it was guaranteed and they said yes.A week later I received the part. It doesn’t look great but it’s an 18 yr old part, I can deal with it. I plugged it in and noticed the odometer/PRND321 screen isn’t on. I tap on the glass a few times and the screen fades in for a second and then fades out again. Again, I tap on the glass and it fades in for a second and then back out. This is a common issue with the ‘99-‘02 GM clusters (a quick Google search will verify that).I call Karels to let them know what’s going on. I didn’t make any demands, I just let them know what it was doing and asked if they’d be willing to work something out. The first person I spoke with wasn’t willing to do anything about it but he handed me off to someone else. The 2nd person said the same thing. I offered to send photos, videos, whatever they would like to verify what’s going on. Nope, they wouldn’t have it. I reminded them that they said they guaranteed it when I purchased it but to no avail. They had absolutely no interest in working anything out with me whatsoever and rather suggested the issue was my truck (the screen works perfectly when I plug my original cluster back in).I give them 2 stars because they did at least fulfill the order and sent the correct part.I honestly hate writing negative reviews but feel it is my duty to warn other shoppers. This is my loss but maybe I can spare someone else the same experience. Sure, maybe you’ll get lucky and buy a part that works and you won’t need to make a warranty claim but if you happen to get a part that doesn’t work, you’ve just bought yourself an expensive paper weight.

They sell defective junk parts and refuse to refund even after parts are PROVEN to be defective.
