This concerns Tow Truck Owner William Ross, Jr of "Ross Auto" (that is the name on the accident information form the State Police gave me - no address or phone number on that form, by the way). He got the call from the State Police 8/6/2017 12::21 AM to pick up my crashed car 5.4 miles from his shop. I was at the scene of the accident, but he had not shown up and I had to leave. Co-incidentally, another tow truck showed up, recognized me (he is a neighbor) and talked to me in confidence. "Be careful", he said, "sometimes they call a Tow Truck operator who will rip you off." Since William Ross, Jr. was already on the way and the State Police had called him, I thanked my neighbor for his advice and told him I would have to wait to see what happened. After I got home, I wanted to locate the car that night, I looked up "Ross Auto" on the Internet, and that was nowhere to be found. So I had to get "Ross Auto"'s phone number by using the call box at the State Police Barracks, Troop F, in Liberty, NY. They also did not have his address (they told me at the scene he was from "Liberty, NY"). On their call box at the barracks they said he was associated with "Immaculate Concepts " in Liberty, NY and gave me his cell phone number. I dialed the number by mistake as I was putting it in my phone, and at 1:55AM I spoke to him, and told him I wanted to pick up the car on Sunday 8/6/2017. He told me it was too late to talk, but related that the car was "Totaled" and to call him back at a more Godly hour. I looked around Liberty for the car early Sunday morning, and it was nowhere to be found. A Google search for the phone number I had gotten from the State Police did not show anything. So I went to my mechanic on Sunday morning at 7AM and woke him up. And he knew William Ross, Jr.. And he called him and left a message. And then called me back at 11:32 AM and gave me some news about the location of my car. I went over to 28 Martin Lane, Mongaup, NY at around 12:30 PM, and after some looking, found his tow yard buried at the end of a well-hidden dead end road. And there was the car, sitting outside in the yard. I eventually had to pay him $988.74 to get the car back, amidst much complaining on his part that I was trying to beat him out of his storage fees. If my car had been towed from the Thruway, I would have paid $540, including tax. If my mechanic had towed the car, he would have charged the standard Town of Liberty charge, or $451.87, including Tax. So, watch out folks - if the State Police say they are calling "Ross Auto", or "Ross Recycling" (which he hand-wrote on his bill), TELL THEM NOT TO! And if he shakes your hand, count your fingers (and toes) afterward... there will be a Horror Story (coming to the Internet soon) by a writer I have hired, one "F. Y. Hyde". It is called "Tow". I plan on trying to sell it to Mr. William Ross, Jr. when it is finished... but he may not know how to read between the lines. Thanks for your time!
