I arrived at Sports and Imports with my 2013 Mini Cooper S after it had started stalling and sputtering during a beautiful morning drive from Great Falls to Monarch and Raynesford. On the way back to Great Falls the engine shuddered and the "Engine Malfunction" indicator light came on as I came through Arlington Junction. A dashboard message told me that my engine was operating on "Reduced Power" but was still safe to drive. I limped back to Great Falls fearing some catastrophic failure and got on the phone to try and find a repair shop to address the issue. The first shop indicated that it didn't have an appointment available for 2 months. I then asked Ernie Schmidt, the owner of Schmidt's Body Repair (who is an awesome guy running an excellent shop), for a referral as he had done some body work on my Mini Cooper. He recommended that I call Jim Manning at Sports and Imports. I called the shop, got Jim on the phone, and scheduled an appointment for the next day. The problem was diagnosed as a faulty ignition coil that same day and the repairs were completed the following day, which included a new ignition coil and a set of spark plugs. About 2 days to diagnose the problem and complete the repairs...at a very reasonable price. Awesome!Sports and Imports is a very busy place so you'll need to give Jim and his staff some help and give him a call, maybe more than once, to stay updated on the status of your vehicle. But he was super responsive, professional, honest and fulfilled every commitment he made regarding when repairs and billing would be completed. I really can't recommend this shop strongly enough given my experience. I'll definitely take my Mini Cooper back to Sports and Imports if I need repairs.

They do great work and are usually pretty quick, but a tad bit pricey for some services.

I've always been on the side of caution with finding a mechanic to fix my mini cooper, but these guys fixed my car at a very affordable price. Showed me the part that went bad. Called before they fixed my car to tell me what the problem. Explained what the part does for my car. Super knowledgeable.

I am seriously laughing right now that are are positive posts for this place. I would give them no stars, but google insists I put at least one star. I have used Sports and Imports a couple times to fix my BMW and Volvo and I am done with them. Unprofessional, lying, lazy people. Last year when I had my BMW in they scratched the inside on the tinting and had to get the window re-tinted, ok that's not that bad, but wait until you hear this one. I took my Volvo XC90 because the check engine light was on. They ran it and Jim claimed there were multiple things that could be wrong but it wasn't reading anything specific. They cleared the light and checked the engine, there was a mouse nest in the engine. Here's the kicker, they just left the mouse nest in the engine and then charged me for their service. He told me that I can just take the cover off and take it out myself because he didn't have time to put gloves on to do it, well guess what buddy, I don't have either! He said maybe the mice were chewing on the wires or something but everything looked ok and he drove the car around and the check engine light didn't come back on. He said if it comes on again to come back (so he can charge me more money). I pick my car up already planning on never going back there, about 4 blocks from their building the check engine light came back on. I went to auto zone to have them check it and their machine told me it's just a PCV issue (CRAZY easy fix). I don't know what they are doing down at Sports and Imports but it's nothing good or professional. Lots of places in town actually work on foreign cars, so take them anywhere else for example; Taylors Auto Max and Carnahans to name a few.

Hello, this is just to dispute the review from Kody below, he brought his car into the auto center and was told what the codes were and was charged for pulling the codes, there was a mouse nest, however the tech Who was pulling the codes inside the vehicle was running diagnostics and pulling a mouse nest out from under the hood is a messy and sometimes time consuming job, it’s not that we wouldn’t remove it, we simply did not have the time to do so being as it needed a hoist, mask and gloves. Kody only wanted the codes pulled. We do not charge more than once for pulling codes. Sports and imports has been in business for 30+ years and takes customer reviews seriously, we are sorry that we couldn’t help this Gentlemen with the replacement of his positive crank case valve. Sincerely, Sports and Imports.
