An honest mechanic(s) is no oxymoron at J and J Automotive Repair and Service center in Medford. I suddenly had major electrical issues with my vehicle and John was upfront about his experience with the type of problem I was having and realistic about the time frame. I thought that taking it to the dealership would be my quicker option, but I was wrong. They not only were unable to resolve the problem, they suggested it was struck by lightening and I get insurance involved because it was too complicated. I then had it towed to an automotive electrician who claimed it was fixed after a week, but did nothing but apply a bandage. I was ready to make peace with a 6 year low mileage vehicle and scrap it and went to tell John how the story was about to end, but to my surprise he nonchalantly said "bring it over." I was and am grateful that he and his team were willing to take on a complicated project that I thought for sure would lead to a dead end, but unexpectedly received a call that they figured out the problem and it's now resolved. I am confident that the repair was done correctly and I will not have anymore electrical problems with my vehicle. Pricing was fair, never once did I feel like they were trying to take advantage of a situation, but wanted nothing more than to help me out of a bad situation. The female tax exists, but not here and they now have a customer for life! Thank you again!

I came here to get them to check out my car before a long drive back to Texas. Nothing was wrong with my car, but the mileage was getting up there and I thought I'd be safe and get the spark plugs changed before the long drive. When we picked up the car after they changed the spark plugs, it was running out front with nobody around. Weird but they were busy so we paid the invoice and left (at this time the mechanic also told us the truck looked in great shape like we took great care of it). The car developed intermittent bucking after leaving jersey and the check engine light came on. Took it to get diagnostic tests and the spark plugs were the issue. Not only that, but the mechanic both installed the wrong kind for my vehicle and over torqued it bc it was cracked. $300 down the drain and who knows if this has caused more permanent damage to my engine and could have caused harm to my family if it shut down on the highway or damaged my converter by going to this place. Maybe the mechanic didn't have enough knowledge of spark plugs installation, didn't read the specs of spark plugs required, or was simply having an off day, buy I cannot recommend this place to anyone based on my experience.
