We had a quarter panel repainted because of a small rust spot. Initially the shop did not want to take the job, because they don't offer rust repairs. Upon inspection of the size of the rust spot however, a repair was offered and carried out. The rust came back within a year after the repair. When asking about a workmanship warranty we were told rust is excluded from any warranty and that cases like these are why the shop does not offer rust repair. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience for several reasons: - It was not communicated nor written down on the quote that the rust would possibly reappear in such a short time. We would not have spent $1300 had we known this. - Why was the repair offered if the outcome was clear to the shop? - The paint match on the repair required several attempts and still didn't match the rest of the car as well as the original paint. The shop argued that they lost money on the work as well, because of the multiple paint attempts. That might have been intended to make me feel better - it didn't. We had just asked for a way to keep the car nice for years to come, we didn't pressure the shop into offering the rust repair! If the only professional solution would have been to replace the quarter panel, then why was the rust repair offered instead clearly recommending the alternative?

As always the staff at Smitty's was very easy to work with. They repaired all of the damage on my vehicle as if it never happened. They handled everything with the insurance company including making sure the correct parts got on my vehicle and making sure the money was there to get my vehicle repaired correctly and quickly. This is why I have brought all of my vehicles here in all the years I have been driving anytime they have needed body work. Even though I have moved out of Bethel two towns away I will still continue to bring my vehicles to Smitty's since they do such a good job and they are so easy to work with. Thank You!!
