I want to start by sharing my journey in Park Forest, where I’ve proudly called home for the past 20 years. Over the years, I’ve relied on Lifetime Auto for several of my vehicle repairs. While their services may come at a slightly higher price, the peace of mind that comes from knowing they stand firmly behind their work is truly invaluable. Having recently retired and embraced the joys of being an empty nester, I now have a little extra cash to indulge myself, and I decided to treat my Hummer H3 to some much-needed attention. In the past, I would have had to navigate the uncertainty of finding a reliable mechanic through word of mouth or by luck—an experience that often left me frustrated and angry.There’s nothing worse than dealing with someone in the service industry who isn't genuine! No more trying to sell me “Johnson Rods”? Just a month after I retired, I started working at an auto shop in Gary, Indiana, and what I witnessed there was disheartening—a culture rife with dishonesty. After only a week, I realized I couldn’t continue in that environment. My newfound understanding of how many shops operate left me disillusioned, as I became keenly aware of the deceitful practices that some mechanics employ to mislead customers. Last year, I began taking my Hummer to Lifetime Auto Muffler Shop, and I’ve been nothing short of impressed. As a female who often encounters skepticism in male-dominated spaces, I was relieved to be treated with respect and as someone knowledgeable, rather than someone who could be easily taken advantage of. The quality of work is exceptional—meticulous, clean, and precise. Each time I walk through their doors, I’m warmly greeted, which makes me feel valued and appreciated. Not long ago, I dropped off my truck for repairs, and unbeknownst to the staff, I came armed with an accurate list of issues that a family member from out of state had diagnosed for me. After their thorough inspection, I was reassured to see their findings matched my list exactly. That was the moment I recognized their integrity. Yes, the price may be a bit higher, but why settle for less when you can enjoy the tranquility that comes from knowing a job has been done right? You won’t ever have to call them back to fix something they overlooked. There are a few things I do miss, however, that I can now joke about: 1. Gritting my teeth as??The annoying jolt I used to feel as I drove over railroad tracks—thankfully, that's a thing of the past! 2. The unexpected thrill of causing a traffic jam at a red light when my truck would suddenly stall—those moments are behind me now. 3. I can no longer hear the ominous clinks, cracks, and knocks while making sharp turns, and I don’t miss the anxious prayers?? that my wheels wouldn’t give out.? 4. Who would have thought I’d miss that infamous internal exhaust smell that forced me to crack my windows in below zero?frigid weather? But seriously, the work you did was magnificent, and for that, I’m truly grateful. Thank you! Lastly, I believe there’s a market for a “Lifetime Auto of the Mechanics” calendar! First time using this place for auto repairs and it was the first choice and BEST choice. I needed a full recon of work done on my Toyota rav4 and they went through everything I needed to fix asap and what could wait. I initially spoke with James on the phone, he told me I could bring my car in same morning and it will be checked thoroughly. Then I got the break down of everything with Matthew and it was a lot to cover but they offered me financing, since the maintenance was such hefty bill; which in turn allowed me to approve the work and let them get started right away. It was finished same day AND I got approved for the financing and was able to pick up the following morning. I really appreciate the kindness and consideration that was shown to me, especially around the holidays and we all need our cars. I’m so happy to be back on the road and appreciative to the team here. So lovely! And I will be referring anyone that needs car attention to this establishment!
