I had a great experience getting my wheels powder coated here. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and their pricing was very competitive compared to other quotes I received. Jesse was extremely personable and easy to talk to, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and great customer service.

Second to none in the DMV! A huge thank you to Jesse and the team at Alloy Wheel Solutions for accommodating my request for an initial assessment of curb rash and other car defects on my Dodge Challenger. I called Jesse on a Thursday mid-morning and he was no-nonsense. I met him at the shop in Gaithersburg, MD on the same day. He was able to inspect my vehicle, educate me on different services available at AWS, and offered up timely solutions. Knowledge sharing and customer service are crucial and Jesse excelled on both fronts. After a productive conversation on-site, and with Jesse’s guidance, I chose to upgrade my four (4) tires and have the rims repaired as well as powder coated (Wet Black). The options for rims at AWS are truly endless! They have everything you need. In the end, I dropped my vehicle off on a Friday mid-morning and had all services completed by Saturday noon. I am absolutely thrilled with the rims and tire combination! Outstanding work with the best people. It’s tough to find both these days but look no further than AWS. I highly recommend AWS to anyone in the DMV! I live in the Northern VA area and passed about 15-20 other shops to travel 25 miles to AWS and I will be doing it again for any future services required. Stay real, stay original, and thank you for fitting me in on short notice before Easter. God Bless!

I took my imported, single-forged BBS wheels and some smaller parts to Jesse for powder coat refinishing. He quoted a three-day turnaround and had his assistant print what I thought was an estimate—but it was actually an invoice requiring full UPFRONT payment. The wheel refurb alone was over $1,200, and with the extra parts, my total exceeded $1,500. I found it strange since most reputable shops require only partial payment, if any but I let it slide. FLAG #1. A week passed with no updates, so I stopped by the shop. Jesse wasn’t there, but his associate, Mike, was. When I asked to check on my wheels, Mike brought out a completely different wheel. After clarifying it wasn’t mine, I asked to see them in the back, but Mike refused, saying Jesse doesn’t allow customers back there—a red flag, as every professional shop I’ve dealt with is transparent about their workspace. FLAG #2. After 10 days in, far past the original three-day estimate. Jesse finally sent photos of the wheels, but of the lips being "machined," which confused me since the original finish was a high-polish - NOT machined. When I pointed this out, Jesse admitted, "After stripping them with acid, I couldn't see the finish at all and just ASSUMED it was machined." At this point, it was clear he never took the time to assess the wheels properly and didn’t even confirm if I was okay with a different finish. FLAG #3. By the two-week mark, I went to pick up the wheels at our agreed time, and they still weren’t done. After waiting some more at the shop, Jesse brought out the "finished wheels" and though the lips looked better than expected, I noticed small black specks all over each wheel. Jesse admitted his spray gun was likely dirty from coating my other parts and said the only fix was to strip and redo them and that they are 'fine". I then noticed each wheel barrel still showing the same visible staining from when I first dropped them off. Jesse blamed it on the wheels' age and claimed it was from a tire he had to mount during machining. When I pressed him on whether they were even powder coated, he insisted they were and pointed to some "sparkling specks" as proof. FLAG #4. Frustrated, I spent the weekend reaching out to other wheel refinishing shops and BBS directly, sharing photos and Jesse’s claims. They concluded that Jesse likely never fully stripped, blasted, or powder coated the wheels. Instead, they were stripped, the lips machined, and then clear-coated (including the mounting hub!). If they had been properly blasted and powder coated, the barrels wouldn’t have had the same visible staining. Also, most professional shops powder coat the entire wheel, not just the face. FLAG #5. We returned the following Monday to discuss this with Jesse and seek a resolution. He continued to insist the wheels had been stripped, blasted, and powder coated. I requested he strip them again so I could have them redone elsewhere, but he refused—instead he provided a refund the payment for the wheels. In the end, I took my wheels to a proper powder coating shop and the wheels and barrels look brand new with no staining, proving Jesse never did what he claimed. They also found the wheels were significantly bent and had to straighten them—something Jesse never did and was supposed to. Jesse should have been honest from the start about his limitations instead of misleading me. I came in hopeful and left feeling deceived. If you're considering taking your wheels to him, be sure to verify that the work you’re paying for is actually being done.
