On the way home from my handicapped granddaughters Oral Surgery at UNC Chapel Hill, the low tire pressure sensor came on and found a nail in the tire. This happened around 4;53pm, close to a possible closing time, in the middle of nowhere! We still had about another 2 hour drive home! The receptionist happily checked us in, the owner shared great conversation, and the tore technician was more than welcome to help. You all are a godsend, because my granddaughter was groggy and in pain, and I began getting extremely frustrated with the 3 hour drive to and from. Especially, the daunting process at the hospital!!! While towing our fifth wheel on a long 17-hour drive, we had a tire blowout just a couple hours in. It caused some damage to our rig and left us in a tough spot—especially since it was Sunday evening. We found Family Auto & Tire Service in Newton nearby and gave them a call, not expecting much with it being after hours. To our surprise, Keith—the owner—answered and said he could help. He opened his shop just for us and spent several hours replacing all four tires. He also showed us problem areas on the others we wouldn’t have caught. Honestly, he likely saved us from another blowout later in the trip. The pricing was fair, the work was solid, and the service was outstanding. My husband, who grew up around small shops like this, really connected with Keith and appreciated his honesty and knowledge. Despite being up since 3 a.m. for an earlier tow, Keith stuck with us until late that night. We’re incredibly grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Family Auto & Tire to anyone in the area—or just passing through like we were.
