Bring a UV flashlight! Or any flashlights! It was a lot more fun for my 4 and 6 year old because they had flashlights. UV flashlights specifically make the walls of the gold mine SPARKLE. There are teeny tiny bats in the cave that were really fun for my kids to spot out. There were a lot more hiking / outdoor opportunities than I thought there would be, including a creek you can stomp around in and picnic tables. I'll plan to stay longer on a nicer day (we came in the rain). We did pan for gold outside in the winter and the water was warmed for us which was incredibly nice and unanticipated. The tickets are so incredibly cheap. I was glad that I wore decent walking shoes and brought an extra coat, and invited grandparents, it was fun for everybody. The kids were FROLICKING with delight at all the experiences and anticipation of what there was to see and touch and do.

I was very shocked to see how big the park is.. it was very beautiful. The gold mind walk through was the best part. Very reasonable pricing.. the museum part was very informative. I would make reservations to do the panning and tour part. There’s nothing on the website that was never mentioned the tour and panning is not available between 12-1pm.. we asked why and the worker stated bc they take lunch between that time.. however there are staffing shortages..

Went mid week on a field trip with elementary students. The tour costs $1 and is so worth it! You can mine for gold in a water filter like area. The tour guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful to the kids. The gift shop had so much to choose from. The bathrooms were clean. Vending machines and soda machine are right outside of the gift shop. There’s place for picnics and a large area grassy field for kids to play or to have an event. Highly recommend. This place is beautiful.
