Great place to stop and learn more about the history of the area. The visitor center was nice and informational $6 to enter and has clean restrooms available. Gift shop was closed for the season when we went. Plan to spend anywhere from 1 to 3 hours here walking the grounds and the visitor center.

This place is amazing. We get to see some history here. Not only did we enter the fort we got to board the coast guard ship was fun! The views in some areas were great as well. Definitely coming here again. ?

This is a massive fort rebuilt three times. The museum is very informative and interesting. It has an elevator so access if you are handicapped. You need your walking shoes to tour the fort and its surroundings. Watch your step on the circular stairwell going up and down. If you are too old or disabled don’t do it.
