Pacific Steel & Recycling is one of the largest recyclers in the valley. they recycle all kinds of metal, batteries, cardboard, aluminum cans, even cars and engines and scrap metal. They will even pay you for recycling there. The staff are helpful but it helps to know how their process works. you'll figure it out if you go there once or twice

Super sweet recycler. They unload you with a crane. FN sick dawg. Don't forget to scale in and out. P.s. office staff is cool. Donate to their beer fund.

Took in cans today to get recycled, and one of the guys who took my weight card, looked at me and said, "you can definitely tell you drink alot of soda". So I figured since I'm a local guide for Google, I would change my rating about these people.

I have never recycled or scrapped before so I called ahead and spoke with Rich, I only had basic understanding of the processes so my questions were not very clear. He was very patient and accommodating in providing information and direction. He even met with me personally when I arrived to walk me through in understanding the materials I had and how I went about having them weighed and reimbursed monetarily. When I arrived in the warehouse I was met by James, a curt, efficient, hardworking and focused employee. He helped me unload the bags of cans from my vehicle and insisted on doing the dirty work of dumping the cans into the machine (the bags had been wet and started to drip all over me). Then with my other scrap metal he rounded up to the nearest pound and thanked me for recycling. At first I thought he was grumpy because I had a biased mindset going there after reading so many bad Google reviews, but actually he was a very attentive employee and was just distracted by all of the other tasks under his responsibility.I met Joe in the office when I went to cash out my receipts, he was very friendly and ready and able to answer my questions and engage in witty banter. He was knowledgeable of the processes there and helped me to understand even more about metals and recycling them. Finally after my awesome experience I realized there was no way I could leave their reviews in this standing after the service I received. Unfortunately I could not remember specific names so I called back and spoke with Abby. I did not work with her directly during my visit but she was quick to offer friends dly smiles and a welcoming demeanor during my time in the main office. That same attitude carried over into our phone call and she was so pleased to give me the names I asked for and thank me again for my business.I will be a loyal customer of Pacific Steel & Recycling, I was treated with respect, generosity, patience and genuine appreciation! ! Thanks to all of you fun people at Pacific Steel!!

Excellent place, whether recycling out getting metal for a project. Prices are based on the market and reasonable, usually a fraction of what the same steel would cost at a place like home Depot and they have lots of the things like cut off wheels, caster wheels and other things that you may need for your project.

Would be nice if next time you guys are closed for inventory to post it on social media or on your website and of all days a friday. Made a trip to town for nothing. Waste of time and gas.

Unfortunately the recycling side of this operation is someplace I choose never to do business with again. My experience started with the person that actually weighs the scrap metal. Quite a surly unpleasant individual that reminded me of the ‘Soup Nazi’ of Seinfeld fame. He couldn’t tell me the going price of the brass, from bullet cartridges. I’d find that out when I took the slip of paper he used to record the total weight of the brass into the office. I noticed that what he recorded was 4 pounds less than what was on the scale. There was no tare weight as the metal was put directly on the scale platform.I then took the paper into the office and was asked if the cases had primers. Yes, the spent primer was still in the case. Because of that, I found out that made the cases “dirty” and the going rate is $0.40 per pound. If I’d remove the primers it would be worth $1.00 per pound. The primers are also brass!! And I’ve recycled brass in Spokane for over $2.00 and never once were primers an issue. (Current prices for this type of brass in Spokane is $1.40 per pound)At this point, i took my brass back, after a short surly exchange with the fellow that weighs the metal.Areas for improvement:Get some training in dealing with your customers. I’m sure most are nice people who do not come in to be treated as as they currently are.Be honest. If the scale says 72 pounds, write down 72.I don’t know if this the only recycling center in the area. If so, they evidently feel that they can treat you and pay you anything they want. In my book, that’s not doing the right thing. My suggestion is to find another place to recycle your metals. Or an even better suggestion would be to start a competing recycling facility. Treat the customers well and pay fair prices and you will be very successful.

This place is great! I've purchased high quality, custom steel brackets for a post and beam structure that were way less expensive than other custom fabrication shops. And the material was 2-3x thicker than brackets sold by the box stores which were (no joke), 5x the money. Great staff and quick service. I'll keep going back for all of my steel needs!

I have been in business for 16 years and since day one Pacific and it's staff have been more than accommodating and helpful with all my custom steel, diamond plate and unusual fabrication needs. Their price and turnaround on cutting, bending, laser cutting has always been within a day and delivered within a day or two. As far as the hater comments below you guys are complaining about recycling! Getting paid for recycling is a bonus you should be doing it to not be wasteful. Getting some $ is better than no money. Operating a business with 20-30 employees means supporting more than just the employees but their families also, once again recycling cost money to operate. This is Dennis Johnson with The Party Store in Columbia Falls, MT

I have gone to Pacific steel to recycle metal for years. They are the only choice I know of near me. They do not pay what they say they will pay. They down grade the metals I have carefully cleaned and sorted so they never pay what they should. I am very familiar with what an honest company pays. Pacific Steel in Kalispell is not honest when it comes to paying for recycled metal.
