When it comes to car parts such as engines, transmissions, drivetrain components, or really any part, Salida Auto Wrecking is the place to find it. Fernando was very helpful over the phone and was patient with my multiple calls to confirm I was getting what I needed, and the yard staff were very helpful and professional as well. I needed a hard-to-find rear axle assembly for my Toyota Tacoma, and they were the only yard I could find who had a quality used part, perfect fit. I arrived shortly after they opened, and they pulled the part I needed within 15 minutes of me walking into the office. The pricing was very fair, and included a core deposit as well as a 60-day warranty in case the part doesn't end up working for me as expected. I could see how buying smaller, generally more inexpensive parts there might not save one much money, in which case it just makes sense to buy the part new (regarding some negative reviews), but for anyone who's looking for a crucial part in recommissioning their ride, this place will serve you well.Service: Part finding & extracting

I bought a catalytic converter. I paid $350 for it. I brought it to my mechanic to install it and replace the one I had in my vehicle. The first one Fernando gave me was cracked. So I had to go all the way back and get a new one. He swaps it out. I bring the next one to my mechanic and that one is ruined aswell. Now I’m being charged more money from my mechanic. Fernando did not say anything about the yard not doing cash refunds even if it was purchased with cash and I have a receipt. Literally a waste of $350. Fernando gave me a price of $45 for a cooling fan that I can get on Amazon for $88. I called back today to pick up and the person that I talk to you tried to charge me $200. Refused to give me his name and told me that Fernando was wrong and it was a family owned business and he could charge me whatever he wanted. Shady shady shady! This guy thought that he could overcharge me because I was a female calling for a part! Totally ridiculous! I asked to talk to somebody else and told him that I thought that his pricing was wrong and there was no way you could charge me more than the dealership was going to charge me . I explained that I thought he was wrong and if he could re-check the price and he hung up on me!

Called to see if they had a parts from a car in stock and the said they did. Got there and was told to follow a guy through a bunch of mud and climb over random piles of cars to check cars that the part was supposed to be on. After 30 minutes of navigating a maze of haphazardly piled cars the part was nowhere to be found. Also traveled almost 100 miles to get here for that specific part. Thanks for wasting my day.

I went it with no expectations, and was really disappointed. Everything was stupid expensive. The cars were horribly disorganized. It’s currently winter time so it’s full of mud everywhere. I won’t be coming back ever again. Don’t even bother coming you will definitely waste your time. You’re better off buying it online.

DO NOT TRUST! Buyer Beware! Bunch of incompetent kids, promising you to remove parts while charging you top dollar, and yet after wasting several days of your time, unable to fulfill their promise. Stay away from them.
