Look - it's a junkyard. I don't understand what half these people expect when dealing with a scrapyard, but clearly it isn't realistic. If you want something done right, you do it yourself. Thankfully, SAS is one of the few yards left that lets you pull your own parts, which not only saves on costs but cuts out the middle man and alleviates concerns of having the part damaged during removal or improperly removed. SAS also has a fantastic selection of late 70s to early 2000s vehicles, with a little bit of newer stuff. Organizationally, the yard is semi-chaotic but still more than navigable and stuff tends to be mostly grouped together by manufacturer. The management is what can be expected from a scrapyard - nice, honest people who will gladly help you whenever you need, but are absolutely a little rough around the edges and suffer from disorganization. If you need to know whether they have a part, I advise just going there and looking yourself. The inventory system they use is far from accurate, but chances are you'll probably find what you need by looking yourself. If you want to overpay and let someone else hand-deliver you a used part that ends up being completely incorrect, go to Staunton Wrecking or the place in new market. The prices at SAS are well within reason and if you take the time to pull the parts yourself, the cost can be easily negotiated. I've gone here dozens of times over the years and will continue to do so. One worker even took the time to bring me a cold water as I was busy pulling an intercooler from a Passat on a hot day. To the other reviewers, stop expecting a scrapyard to be the epitome of organizational excellence. Go to the yard yourself, talk to the employees, pull your own part.

Called twice for a part the first time I was hung up on. Second time I was told hold on and waited one the phone for 5-10 mins. Read the bad reviews and stear away from this place. Will go to pick a part I Fredericksburg.

They do not follow through with orders. I have heard all bad things about them, and decided to give them a chance. I had ordered a motor from them and two weeks into phone calls with them and talking with the "owner", that motor was still not out of the vehicle. I recommend saving your time and spending a little extra money somewhere else.

The staff is kind and polite and great at sharing there input one certain parts that you ask about. The yard is clean and organized to me anyway, for which I have seen worse. Just a word of advice wear jeans for most places in the yard. And I believe that the prices are fair, on most items the prices can be improved, and that are good about keeping the yard clean so that nobody gets hurt. And when you call for a part they 're able to remove the part for you and have it waiting there for you.

I've been waiting on a Ser of heads for two plus weeks. Keep getting run around and paid in advance so of course they don't care. Would mot recommend anyone going there and if you do, DO NOT PAY UNTIL PART IS IN YOUR HAND!

I've been calling repeatedly for a period of two weeks and was told that someone would call me back and let me know if they had the part I needed. No one ever called me back at any point or time. That are a joke!

Terrible customer service. They sent me a spindle/ knuckle with the pinch bolt for the ball joint sheared off and seized (the same exact reason I needed one in the first place). The genius that answered the phone said to ship it back and they would take a look at it. The cost to ship it back was the same price as the part. Do yourself a favor and call LKQ. One star??? NOT
