I was recommended to go to Smitty's Auto Repair. Regarding finding out where to go for work on Transmission of my 2007 Saturn Vue. But was referred to another company in Evanston.

Ole Smitty is a little rough around the edges, but I love this shop. Some great mechanics here, and most importantly, they're honest. Had problem with my shifter, 2 other shops wanted me to replace the entire assembly, which came out to ~1500 parts and labor. Smitty's main mechanic, Norm, fixed it for me for ~200 bucks. In a day. 10/5 would bring my business here again.

Used for towing. Was told car was to be delivered to my dealership first thing the next morning. It's 11:22 am and still not there. Finally delivered around 12:30. Used wrong tow truck and wrecked my trans. Insurance is working on tracking my car down. Update: wrecked trans in excess of 9k in damages. A month later and my car is still in the shop waiting on insurance to get it straightened out.

Highly Under rated tow company. Very professional, prompt and excellent value for service. My tow person was Cortez, he could not have been more personable and accommodating While addressing my issues.He was knowledgeable and Professional in moving my truck to the next town for service. This was not our first interaction with Schmitty’s. My husband has used them in the past with the same excellent service and reasonable pricing. They may not be as big as some of the other companies but their delivery, services, and cost surpasses All the glitz and glitter. I’m putting them on speed dial in case I need them again in the future.

Ive used this company twice once personally the second through state farm. Never had an issue the tow man was very nice to deal with and handled my 2016 subaru very well. I literally stood there watching the hole time and not one issue with the way they handled my vehicle. Prices were very reasonable.

I am currently calling this location and the woman who is the current dispatcher will not give me her name. She has been extremely rude especially with the inconvience I have been experiencing with this very company, taking 4 hours just to tow my vehicle. I informed them of all the issues and they still sent the wrong equipped truck. I am trying to speak to a supervisor and she informed me she does not currently have a supervisor present and will not give anyone else the phone for me to speak to them. I need my car towed only down the street from 1943 W Estes to 1012 Chicago ave, why is this hard???? I don't have a key, you should vehicles equipped for this matter???? Please fire this individual she has not been professional at all.

Sept 30th at 11:30 am, I called Smitty to get a tow and a woman told me that it would be a little over an hour for the tow driver to arrive. I agreed and was patiently waiting on the tow. However, after 1:30 pm I called back to check on the status of the tow and the woman told me that the driver was getting something to eat and it would be 30 minutes or more until I could get service. What's worst than the wait was the attitude and hostility of the woman when I voiced my concerned about the extensive waiting and her not really knowing when the driver would be able to tow my vehicle.She hung up in my face. Very unprofessional business, longer than usual waiting for service and hostile customer service representation. Ratings equals NO STARS

I haven't used them for their auto repair, but I used them for towing through Statefarm. I was given an hour estimated time of arrival. Hour goes by ab no one arrives. Call them and they inform me that the guy hasn't even left since he was out getting gas and a flashlight. They might be a good repair shop but not towing company.

would give 0 stars if i could. the towing is horrible. if they say they will be there in an hour it will take 2 hours for them to get to you. the dispatch and office staff are very unprofessional and rude. if you call to ask a question you will get yelled at for asking. if your road side assistance company offers Smitty's towing as the company to tow you say NO thank you. use a different towing company.
