Very pleased that they took $4.00 off of my purchase of the 2005 Buick Park Avenue oe oem owner's manual because of my trade-in of a used 2001 Buick Park Avenue oem oem owner's manual today and they so made the transaction go very smoothly for me today's thanks to Jim Roth & Susan Swift.

Great experience. First, called and spoke with Jim. Very pleasant and extremely helpful. He knew what I was looking for without a stock number or even looking it up. I live several hours from this place. Jim offered to take several pictures so I could make sure I was interested. Pictures were great, from multiple angles, and really showed the actual part well. I purchased the part online and Jim offered to leave it outside so I could pick it up after hours. The part was much better than expected. Ran into the owner's grandson while I was there and had a great chat with him. Great value for the money and incredible service.

I inadvertently ordered the wrong part. With no Cos 2 me, they went and reordered it and just called it to. Day and I thought that was very Vari nice of them to do it. I work for this place before years. And years ago and Mike swift has got it down. Cold and the staff are extremely nice. I recommend going to the established lot. Doesn't it if they don't have the part they can find it? If Available

I wish there was a zero star rating to describe my experience this morning. Yesterday I talked to Jim about some accessory brackets of a 351W and he wanted me to come look at the parts to make sure they were correct as I am looking for specific ones. He said parts were pulled first come basis, so I drove 2 hours from Waterloo to get there right when they opened. Jim was not there, so I was helped buy another parts guy. He was around 30 yrs old with a beard. He told me where the engine was that was in an E350. I went and took a look and came back and said I would like all the accessory brackets, water pump pulley, and crank pulley. This is when he started to get rude. He told me that is a lot of work and flat out said he will not pull the crank pulley as it is too much work. He then asked me if I have ever pulled one myself, which I found to be very unprofessional to test me like that. Also, a crank pulley is only held on by 4 bolts, so not a big deal at all. I then said never mind then and I will just take the power steering bracket and pump. He asked how much how much I wanted to pay and I said I have no idea, what are your prices for everything? He chuckled and then I said online it showed 50 for the pump and he said 35 for the bracket. I then asked how long it will take to pull the parts and he said, " A long time." I asked what is a long time and he said maybe this afternoon. I then said forget it and I am not giving my money to a salvage yard that does not what to pull parts. I took off work and made a 4 hour round trip for this. I was also wanting to buy an F150 seat and some Bronco from beams that I saw while I was looking at the engine. You all missed out on several hundred dollars because of one parts guy. I will also not waste my time ever going back. I was respectful the whole time and I was treated like a hassle. I do not recommend.

Dudes got used batteries for sale for $50 or $60. I’ll never buy a new battery for my car unless this business goes belly up. Kudos! I’ll be back…

Good junk yard with knowledgeable staff

Loved this place! I called 100s of salvage yard looking for a front left hand window for my car in 3 different states and no body seemed to have and parts for that car! However it is a car that I’ve never really seen many of. But I called them and they told me they could have the glass in a week! Great costumer service!

Sloppy towing and Truck moving. Broken bumper and steering piston I would not let them touch your vehicle. Reply: nope I didn’t take any catalytic converters. You do tow for really cheap that’s why people us you. You treat peoples property likes it’s junk.

There was some miscommunication about my order at first but they really came through for my boyfriend, baby and I when they set us up with an affordable alternator. Their shop was the best price for the part we needed out of the ten or so places that we researched in Des Moines.

Just dealt with Brandon as I was looking for a glass t top for a corvette, he didn’t have what I needed on hand but he directed me to a place that did show it in stock. Super helpful and very knowledgeable..... I will definitely make these guys my first call as I need items in the future!

Loved this place. Reminded me of when I lived on the farm and went to these places all the time. They even have cats there!! I was going to pick up a steering column and the gentleman carried it out to my car and put it in. Now, where in the world do we find nice people like that anymore? Right here I found them. Thanks ya'all
- JJim Nespor
Stop by this past Saturday April 29th. Gentleman was very helpful and had all the info for my parts perfectly! Price was very fair. I actually purchased the part and then remembered I needed a small plastic clip- went back out to the yard and he did not charge me for it! (I don't think I believe the other posts that are not good here!) Jim

Multiple times we have had issues. First was with the arrival of a part that we had ordered. Made multiple trips to the place to pick it up and it was not there. Guys who work there are very RUDE!!! Treated us terrible and advised would call when got there. They never called just went back in 2 days later to realize the part arrived the next day. This time it was with junking a vehicle. They quoted me $100 for junking it. Called back to schedule a time and they would not give me the $100 that they had promised. I advised the gentleman that he should educate his employees to ask the right questions. He then stated that he wasn't getting mad at me and then hung up.. THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE HERE!!!! I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE NOT TO MENTION THAT EVERY COMPLAINT ON HERE THE OWNER COMES BACK WITH A NASTY COMMENT!!! I WOULD NEVER CHOSE TO DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY WHO DOESN'T CLAIM ANY ACCOUNTABILITY..

Very fast and friendly service! Bought a used car battery a week ago because I was between paychecks and hoping to save a little money, I got it installed and my core turned in and went out to go somewhere the next day and my car wouldn't start. Charged it up for about an hour and went to start my car and it barely wanted to turn over. Battery was junk (ya get what you pay for basically). Had to cough up the money for a new battery or go without wheels all weekend, which wasn't gonna happen, so like the fella said to do at Swift's, I kept my receipt and returned the used battery first thing Monday morning for a full refund, and like the service was previously I could count on another speedy, friendly transaction! Thanks guys, pleasure doing business with you all!! 😊

Needed the rear glass for a Jeep Grand Cherokee, called several places and they we're the only place I found with the glass in town. Got a call later that day telling me that there was "a problem" pulling the glass and that it would be the next day, fine. Called the next morning to find out that "a problem" meant that the glass was broken and that they, like everyone else in town would have to order it in, this was not told to me at all. Was told to call back at 3:30. Called only to be told that the glass hadn't made it in and now it would be another day. Upon calling around town, nobody can get used glass in the week, much less tomorrow so I'm sure that I was lied to again. I explained to the extremely rude person (couldn't tell gender) that I had the day off and it was now wasted because they didn't let me know the full situation. Their response? "I didn't tell you that it, was someone else"... Really? That excuse works? What are you 5 years old? Well "someone else" just lost a sale because I have no need to deal with unprofessional people who don't take responsibility for the actions of the company they represent. Just because you didn't talk to me doesn't mean that someone else representing your company didn't, you're whom I'm talking to now so you are the face and voice of Trails End at that moment. I'll never even bother calling them again, what a waste of time and energy to ultimately get yelled at and lied to. Stay away if you value your time.

I recently took advantage of their battery exchange service, after getting the first replacement I found that the battery had a dead cell, after being promised that all batteries were tested and in more than good working order. I took that battery back and got another replacement and, of course, that battery had a dead cell in it as well. I got my hands on a brand new battery from Wal Mart and everything was in good order. I called to speak to somebody about getting a refund for being sold two bad batteries and the employees there proceeded to tell me I didn't know what I was talking about, so I asked to speak to a supervisor and the employee said he was going to hang up on me. I do not recommend this business for anything, Even just being in the office talking to the employees, they were disrespectful and not willing to help at all, as if you had to be an auto expert before you walk in the door. Not to mention on the phone being disrespected and hung up on after I said I'd prefer to speak to someone of authority. Again, I don't recommend this place for any auto needs. Go to Wrench N Go or anywhere else.

I do quite a bit of business with swifts. They do an amazing job of taking care of their customer and making sure they get them the right part the first time. They offer fair prices are always return phone calls in a timely manner.

If your vehicle is sent here make sure your tools are out before you get there. Had my vehicle sent there from a shop trails end was supposed to call me and didn't the next day I arrive to find about $200 worth of tools missing. I trust my mechanic when he tells me all of my things were there when it left his shop. Funny part was they only took the tools they knew how to use things that would be useful at a scrap yard.. Got my clothes back at least I guess.. Talked to one older gentleman that was a halfway decent guy I guess considering my tools were missing. Just read the management replies to the reviews that says it all. I suggest wrench n go never had a problem with them.

[ ^ THAT ^ - is not my name - I am on a borrowed computer ] I found these guys on Car-Parts. com and shopped around for specific lower intake manifold for a Ford V6. It's a complicated part and my need was absolutely year-specific. I told them I was not in a hurry for it but lowest cost shipping was a must. Well it got here today MAN WAS IT EVER PRETTY. SOME BODY did a heck of a job carefully taking it off an engine without damaging it, leaving some valuable "extra parts" attached to it AND IT LOOKED LIKE A BRAND NEW UNIT it was so cleaned up you could eat off of it ! MORE time and effort was expended on uber-carefully bubble-wrapping the delicate part before making a form-fit box for it to be shipped in. THANKS GUYS - MEANS A LOT TO HAVE SUCH CARE EXPENDED ON A CRITICAL PART FOR MY ENGINE BUILD ! ! !
- CCarlos Sanchez
This company has no knowledge about part they ship wrong parts and do not receive the calls after the issue is been raised. I request all the customers who are looking for good service of used car parts never purchase anything for Swift's Trails End Auto Recycling.

I needed tools to lower the spare tire on a Land Cruiser and the person on the phone said LC parts / tools are hard to find but he gave me a toll-free number to call. Pretty awesome service since he didn't have to help me!
- FFabian Fabianski
On craigslist I found an Audi that was destroyed and they were selling parts. I have an Altima and I wanted a headlight so I called to see if they have any. The guy was very rude. He said he didn't have the light, even tough I was very sure he didn't even check. I asked him to look it up and surprise, surprise there was a headlight. The price was $120. I asked him why it was so expensive and he responded with "Because we set the price around here". I was concerned because you could buy a brand new tail light for that price. He just said "Then go buy a new one. Don't call here if you don't like our price". I will never buy anything from them. I suggest you stay away from them.

I had a unfortunate situation with my car when I was on a trip halfway to Omaha NE my car broke down and it was about that time to junk it. I towed it Des Moines, IA to a shop when I later decided to have it junked. I spoke with a guy on the phone who gave me the best price estimate that I could find and he told me that I could just mail them the title later, as I didn't have it with me and then they would just mail me the check. Most junk yards I spoke with had a problem with me not having the title. I did all of that and low and behold they followed through, was very painless and I'm thankful for all of their help. Saved me a lot of miles driving!
