I would give it zero stars but I don't have that option. First off, the employees really like to argue with you about what's what and they get rude when you try to share your opinion on something that differs from theirs. They clearly don't know the difference between #2 copper and bare bright. I have saved up scrap copper over the years including lots of bare bright wire I obtained from various people and places. So I stripped a bunch of it and started bringing it in 20 to 30 lb at a time and the smart mouth little employee at the Caldwell location started accusing me of stealing. The last time I went there I wasted my gas and time because I live 30 miles away from that location. I stood there and waited ten minutes while the guy ignored me and then when he finally approached me, this little smart mouth decided he wanted to know exactly where I got all my copper which being saved up over the years, I don't have one specific source, and I assured him nothing nefarious was going on. He waited till I was out of ear shot and asked my girlfriend where I got my copper, as if she was going to expose some big crime and he would be the hero. This made her very uncomfortable because he tended to stare at her many times before. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he proceeded to tell me he was the boss and the only one working but he was the big boss over everybody as if there was nobody above him. When I questioned him about why I all of a sudden had to document where I got it, he got rude and told me to leave. So as I was leaving, literally in my car driving out of the garage there, he continued to tell me to leave and said he was going to call the cops. Extremely rude and tried to make me look like a criminal. So it's good to know that United Metals has profilers working for them maybe they should quit their day job and go be cops. It's too bad too because I will direct everybody away from that place even if they do pay good prices. But that kid being too big for his britches that stereotypes everyday people twice his age, is disrespectful and self loathing will cost you business and will continue to until something's done about that.
