My car was wrongly towed last year around the end of September due to “expired tags”. The temporary registration sticker had just expired and I was waiting on the new one after it has been lost in the mail, a quick dmv website check would’ve confirmed whether or not my tags were truly expired but nevertheless is was towed. I called and they told me to price to get my car was $400. I didn’t have the money at the moment so I called a few weeks later once I got the money together and was told by the receptionist that there were no answers anyone could give me about pricing or my vehicle until the next day because “every single employee is out for a holiday party”. I called again and was told that the price to get my vehicle was now $2,300 because it was in their possession for almost 4 weeks. No one told me that there is a daily holding fee of $45 added to the towing fee, which is my fault I guess, however I’m not sure how 4 weeks equates to almost $1,700?? I called again today to check to see if they still had it after being told they would hold it for up to 6 months and I was told that my car was about to be processed for scrapping so I sent someone to retrieve everything. On the phone they were able to verify my vehicle, confirm that they still had it in possession and that I could get everything out today. Upon arrival, they informed that my car had been sent to a junkyard two weeks ago. I was told by the manager that “the person whose job it is to process vehicles didn’t process it correctly” so there was no proper documentation on when my possessions were being processed or sold and they didn’t know if they had it or didn’t have it. My car and all the contents on the inside of my car are now gone, which is admittedly my fault due to me taking too long, however this entire process since the beginning has been sloppy. From the lack of communication to the faulty documentation and blatant incompetency. I was told “I understand your frustration and I apologize for the inconvenience and confusion, however you’ve had ample time to retrieve your stuff”, in a tone that communicates “I’m sorry you’re upset but if you waited this long you showed us that you didn’t care about your vehicle so we don’t care either.” Clearly they only care about money and it’s all about trying to get as much money out of people as possible. Regardless of my own shortcomings, this entire process should’ve been a lot more structured and informative. But I’ll take my loss and move on, be careful dealing with people as careless as Ace Towing.

Terrible company they towed my car from my job which had a sign saying “please dont tow I work here” including leaving my number. The discarded the not on where my tags go and it was still towed at my JOB then I get charged $290 and the tow yard is 2 miles away. When I called to explain the lady on the phone completely shut me down saying I had to pay no matter what and I work for the owner of the property by the way

This company waits outside of concert venues and as soon as Costco is closed they begin towing cars. It’s very predatory and dirty money. I know some people have to make money this way because they lack the intelligence to do more.
