[EDIT AT BOTTOM] Drove almost 2 hours for this specific vehicle expecting the typical car dealer interactions, but the customer service we received from Ahmed was like a breath of fresh air compared to what we were used to! Ahmed is extremely down to earth and personable, as well as honest and upfront about anything regarding the vehicle. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Spartan Elite of Jolly Rd and would 100% recommend them to anybody looking for a used vehicle. [EDIT] 9/4 About 1-2 weeks in of owning the vehicle, our left blinker wasn’t working properly, our windshield washer pump was leaking onto the driveway at an alarming rate, and it shot a “service ESC system” every time we came to a red light and the auto stop wouldn’t work anymore. Took the day off from work to drive two hours back to Lansing as we felt they should make it right, Received a new windshield washer pump, changed the blinker and connector piece which was bent up causing the connection to be spotty, and a new battery which fixed the service ESC, All of which was fixed by Ahmed and his team free of charge, as we had only owned the vehicle for about a week and I made quite a stink about it after paying 20k for the vehicle. [EDIT] 9/23 Owned this vehicle for about 3-4 weeks, took it to the dealership after it shot a engine code at us for the camshaft, turns out it need a camshaft solenoid, as well as many many other maintenance points. While yes I understand most of this is regular maintenance, I would hope that a dealer would take it upon themselves to make sure everything is good when your customers paying roughly $20,000 for a vehicle and not have a $1900 repair and maintenance bill dropped in their laps a month down the road. The car came with a 4 month or 4K mile powertrain warranty as well as a 1 year maintenance warranty, which the only thing out of the list of issues that is covered is the $450 rear brake job, and the warranty only covers roughly $150 of it. Please use caution when purchasing a vehicle from here, do yourself a favor and pay the $200 for an inspection before purchasing, we made the mistake of trusting their word that it had already went and passed an inspection through them, either it wasn’t a very good inspection, or they knew the issues and sold it that way knowing what it needed instead of putting money into it to prevent customers from inheriting a bunch of problems because it failed on 11 different inspection points. We came to the dealership because we wanted piece of mind, if we were interested in spending nearly 2k on maintenance and repair a month down the road we would have bought something from marketplace or the repo auction site as most dealerships do for half of the sale price of this vehicle and probably still would be 5k off of selling price after repairs. Gotta love paying commissions. [EDIT] 10/18 We were told the car came with a 4 month or 4K mile powertrain warranty, and a 1 year unlimited miles maintenance warranty. Took the car in for an oil change which was covered under the maintenance warranty, and was told our maintenance warranty was void because the dealer had the option to choose the 1 year term for the maintenance, but clearly either forgot, or chose to for keep the same terms as my powertrain because it wasn’t specified by the dealer so the maintenance expired with my powertrain warranty due to us driving the 4K miles already. Absolutely were 100% mislead, we were assured by Ahmed that it was for 1 year with unlimited miles and he told us many times to make sure we used it because we had it, clearly he forgot to fill in his empty promises. Lowering my review from 5 star to 1, as we are a little over 2 months in to owning this vehicle and it has been nothing but surprises every couple weeks. Do NOT take their word for NOTHING because clearly they can’t fulfill their end of the bargain. Please spend your money elsewhere these people do not care about their customers.
