WARNING TO THE PUBLIC: GREG’S AUTO SALVAGE I am writing this to warn others about my experience with Greg's Auto Salvage in Fort Covington, New York. I brought my vehicle in for an internal water pump replacement — a job that requires disassembling and reassembling critical internal engine components, including the timing chain and associated parts. After the initial repair, I paid in full and left with the vehicle. Almost immediately, the engine light illuminated, and the car began running sluggishly. Diagnostics revealed that metal shavings were clogging the cam phase sensors — a clear sign of contamination during internal engine work. Over the following months, I brought the vehicle back multiple times. The shop eventually admitted the issue stemmed from the original job and agreed to replace the water pump, timing chain kit, and cam phase sensors under warranty. Unfortunately, the same problems returned yet again after this so-called repair. Despite continued pleas to address the ongoing issue, we were met with resistance. The shop finally agreed to replace the cam phase sensors and WVT gears under warranty. However, when we returned to pick up the vehicle, the owner, Greg, backtracked on his promise and demanded payment — claiming this new issue was unrelated, even though the damage clearly resulted from the original engine contamination. Metal shavings in an engine are a serious problem and directly affect timing components, VVT solenoids, and gears. This is not just my opinion — it's mechanical fact. In my experience, Greg's Auto Salvage: * Failed to complete the original repair correctly * Introduced contamination into the engine * Did not stand by their warranty agreements * Provided inconsistent and contradictory explanations I strongly advice anyone considering service at this shop to proceed with caution. I hope this helps others avoid the frustration, time, and expense I’ve endured.

4Philosophy

Had a broken flex pipe rusted to the converter. No shop around me was willing to fix the flex pipe without taking the converter with it. Thats when I heard about gregs auto and they were willing to do it for a good price. Saved me time and money, highly recommend

Had some lights come up on my dash. Called Greg's and got an appt the same day. Staff is very friendly and professional took in my vehicle and figured out the problem quickly. Pricing is fair as well as labor and the waiting area is comfortable. They explained also what the issue was which most shops don't take the time to do. This a is very good group of people and honest. I recommend their services.??
