Customer reviews of Play Street Museum - Upper West Side in New York, NY
4.9 stars based on 30 reviews- RRaquel Parra
Play Street Museum is a charming and thoughtfully designed play space, especially well suited for younger children. It’s essentially an indoor playroom focused on imaginative and symbolic play, and while it’s advertised for kids up to eight years old, I’d personally recommend it mainly for children up to four or five at most. My kids are four and six, and although they enjoyed parts of it, the older one felt a bit too old for most of the activities. The space is beautifully decorated and very “cute,” with several themed areas that encourage role play, such as a mini grocery store, a doctor’s office, an office space, and a pet rescue area. Kids can dress up, do simple crafts, slide down a small indoor slide, and really immerse themselves in pretend play. Everything is clean, well maintained, and clearly designed with a lot of care. That said, the experience feels quite overpriced for what it offers. On top of the general admission, several activities come at an additional cost. For example, making bracelets costs around $12 for three bracelets, and activities like making slime are also charged separately. These extras add up quickly and make the overall visit feel less good value for money, especially considering the size of the space and the target age range. Overall, it’s a lovely spot for toddlers and preschoolers, particularly for a short visit, but families with older children—or those expecting all activities to be included in the entry price—may want to manage expectations.

My spouse and I were traveling from out of town with our 11 month baby in the February season. We were researching good indoor play space to give our child a chance to move/play between our exploring of the city. The pricing is on the high end side for 1.5 hours, but I think it was worth it for the details below. The online booking process for the time slot and then the check in on the day of was easy. I recommend to come early before the time slot because it can get chaotic with all the parents checking in and getting things into cubby areas. The place was clean, very detailed with their child size themed rooms, and the play items were very good quality! It’s a socks required environment. The bathrooms were clean, and they provided these rubber slippers so you don’t get your socks wet. The only critique I would give is that I would like an option with more crawling gross motor play/play forts (there was a toddler ladder and slide but it was very popular with the older toddlers) as our child couldn’t fully appreciate the pretend play. However, our baby still had a blast and she fell asleep in our stroller after our visit. Goal obtained! If we ever visit NYC again, we would love to come back here especially when our child can play more with the play pretend items .

This place is so much fun for the little ones :) My son is almost 2 and he absolutely loved it! The staffs are really nice as well. My husband has a hearing problem and they accepted to turn off the music so he could play with his son. We are very thankful and looking forward to go back for more fun times!
