Cannot say enough good things about the Sea Tow assistance we received. After a beautiful day on our boat just east of Cedar Point, Long Island, we were unable to get the boat started. Seemed like a battery problem. Sea Tow arrived quickly but was unable to get the boat started. They sent another boat to tow us home. The captain was not only able to tow us back, but he expertly put us into our home dock with no trouble. Such a good experience. Don’t hesitate to have this peace of mind. It’s so worth it.

IF "0" WAS AN OPTION , THAT WOULD BE MY CHOICE. BOATER BEWARE! BBB F rating look it up ! As a sea tow member for many years, My husband and I felt "safe" knowing we were covered if we ever found ourselves in the unfortunate circumstance of needing a tow. On July 4th we picked up a new boat in Hudson NY and were taking her back to LI . The trip was beautiful, until the second day of the voyage. When we reached NY Harbor our engines experienced an issue which forced us to shut down. We immediately called Sea tow and got dispatched to lower NY Captain Jack Schachner. We spoke with him and he refused to get us. He told us he would contact a mechanic and told us to get to a marina where a mechanic can look at the engines. The US Coast Guard found us a boarded our boat to assist. I called Sea Tow again , The Coast Guard spoke with Captain Jack and said they were escorting us to a safer location out of the shipping lane. We limped along at 1-2 Knots The Coast Guard told us to drop anchor and wait for Sea tow - who would NEVER come. Captain Jack called us and told us to find a marina called the excellsior - we told him we could not find it and pleaded with him that we needed him to at least tow us to that marina. He said based on our coordinates we were only .25 miles away . He said look for the "mafia" blocks you will find it. We again pleaded that our engine was overheating and could not continue. We limped into an abandoned dock left since Superstorm SANDY which is run by NYC sanitation by the NYC projects. The sanitation security officer told us we couldn't stay there , it was private and more importantly UNSAFE. I called Corporate Sea tow thinking that they would intervene and make sure we were towed to a safe location . I spoke with a Michael Murphy the regional manager he said "it's 4th of July weekend, we can not help you" and we should wait for a mechanic that couldn't get to us until Monday (this was Friday) I called my insurance company and they dispatched another tow service Pro TOW Captain Pete came and retrieved us. When I called Sea tow back and told them that an independant tow company agreed to tow us back to LI , Michael said "of course he is because you're paying him" Don't I pay for membership. ? There are plenty of tow services out there . As a boater for over 20 years and VERY active in the boating community, I implore you to STAY AWAY FROM SEA TOW. They left us abandoned and in a very very unsafe situation. I have everything documented and pictures to prove this story.
